So, as the title indicates, I have a question about Bastila Shan, Jedi Master. I haven't used or played against Bastila Shan, JM much (I just haven't played much at all recently LOL), so I don't have much experience with ABM. All that to say, whenever the possibility of an OR Force battery is brought up, there is always something along the lines of "Scared What about Bastila Shan, JM? ABM is bad enough already!" The concern is very easily understandable, and I do not mean to imply that I think it is not valid, I just want to know your (my fellow minis players') opinions: would an OR Force Battery be as bad as it sounds?

My thought is this: let's assume that between the Force Battery has Renewal 2 and the Rebel Storm Palpatine's CE. Between Bastila and the battery, ABM could remain on indefinitely. I am well aware of the fact that that is not something anyone would enjoy dealing with. But with clever timing and good initiative rolls, Bastila can stay on for four of the first five rounds (start at beginning of round 2, just tap at end of round three, start ABM again at beginning of round 3, tap at end of round 4, etc.). And that's assuming that the second round isn't just more placement. Also, with Thon, Bastila often starts with 4 Force, meaning she can stay on even longer. Just looking at appearances, it seems like the only way a battery would make it worse is allowing ABM to remain on during a couple of off-rounds and during the endgame. SO, not having much experience with Bastila, my question is: is an OR Force battery really as scary as it sounds?

Thanks! ThumbsUp

Bastilla isn't the only reason not to have a force battery in the OR.

But the key would be at this point to make it targeted. Say for a subfaction like Army of Light, or Covenant, or for specific types of characters like Seers.

There are types of force batteries that would not be bad at all. Ones that effect only non uniques, specific characters or subfactions as bill stated. My personal favorite would have someone hand out force renewal 1 to characters. There are a lot of OR Jedi that would be semi playable or actually playable if they had access to renewal. Plus side is Bastilla already has it so it doesn't affect her.

Yes the ABM not being active for the first round isn't that big a deal, but being able to "wait it out" until bastilla runs out of force towards the end of the game is huge IMO. I can think of several games against her where I was able to win because I was patient and picked off what I could, usually scrubs, untilABM wore off and then dealt with the base of my opponents squad with all my CEs active.
