Greetings SWM community!
Let me first start off by saying that I am in total agreement with the recent huge changes (banning minis and "Force Bubble" ruling). I have been pretty quiet in all my years of being a part of the SWM community, however, with all that is happening now (talk, speculation, changes), I have to speak out. We need to be careful/cautious/mindful that with of all of the sudden changes ( trying to make up for 10 yrs of some players disatisfaction) that this may create a lot of confusion, especially for the casual player, as many of the people in California are now a days (speaking of course only from the West Coast point of view). I understand that many of you guys here have the time to study the game, and remember all the changes. My concern is that if you complicate this, start banning/nerfing/changing too many minis on already printed cards, this could cause many problems. I mean, there will have to be some master sheet with all the changes, that we'll have to have by our side, and literally "study" to understand with every game and team building experience. We must remember that life is too busy as it is, and too many changes potentially could be a turn off to a percentage of players, who have been a part of the game for many years. No one enjoys complication and being confused as to what rules are, how they are interpreted, and implemented in games, competition or not. I started playing the game at Rebel Storm, and have loved the game since day one. Too much complication will be a turnoff, IMHO. All I am saying is that we shouldn't go crazy with this. We must keep a balance of trying to get older players back into the game, as well not lose the few players we have left. Too many changes, for me, and the band of players we have left here on the West coast, may be devastating. With that being said, I am happy with what has been decided on up to this point. I think that the V-Sets have been awesome, and that addressing problems with the release of new sets is and has been the way to go.

Please, please, pretty please, with sugar on top, don't make too many changes!!!!!!!! We don't need a new rule book, and cause mass confusion in an already fantastic, awesome, fun, uplifting, and fantasy escape game that deals with one of the best created worlds ever, the Star Wars Universe. Thanks guys for your respect on hearing my humble opinion. May the Force be with us all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not expect to see complicated changes. Cost adjustments, bans are least confusing. If any piece gets a bigger change it would probably come with a new printed card to replace the old one.

I think we're done with changes before GenCon. At some point in the near future we'll have a Compiled Errata thread stickied on these boards for ease of reference.

I would think the changes only matter if you played in a tournament. If you;re only playing with friends for fun, play the way you all agree.

We still enjoy the Virtual sets and look forward to new sets, and like to compete with competition rules here on the West Coast, at least once a yr at the CA regional. We follow the rules dictated by SMW Gamers, Bloomilk, Virtual set designers, etc. for Regionals :)

Agreed, people seem to be wanting to ban a to of pieces, as soon as the drones are gone people are already pushing for Mice. Then on to the next overpowered piece (Naboo, Bastilla, etc...). Also for a mini set could we just release the updated cards?

People have and will always push for their least favorite aspect of the game to be errated, banned, or nerfed with a glossary or floor rules change. The important thing to remember is that just because a handful of community members want a change doesn't mean anything will be changed.

I can say for now at least there will not likely be any changes, (with the Exception of minor rules changes in the Pre-Gen con rules update that we normally have.) Epecially Bans. They are currently trying not to shake up the Meta more than it already has been. There may be some post Gen con stuff dictated, however i think the banned pieces will have an errata issued with the next Set after Gen con.

this game always has changed and evolved with every new set.
with Vsets some errors slip thru the cracks, and must be addressed latter.
while I don't think the BAN-HAMMER is the answer, it give time for errata to be made.
and I hope,to the living force that changes are made, and the BANned figures are brought back, soon.

That is completely the intent. Our plan is to have new cards with the updated stats printed in the near future. The reason we're waiting is because we recognized that we just didn't have the time to do it properly if we tried to get them printed before GenCon. We'd rather do it right than rush it and get it wrong.

So don't worry; the hope and plan was always to lift the ban when the updated cards were available.
