The stats were not-leaked on the not-rules forum, in response to someone's question about something else entirely.
(I'm not supposed to say http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=18196, because dot test/ Turing test?) BigGrin

That said, I would like to hear more about the design ethos and exegetical framework to this particular custom,
as it inspired my T4 Turret Droid v4, and my Telosian Tank Droid v3
Do I think it will shake things up in 200? No. but, in Dynamic Duos and 250 and up,
yup. This thing is a different option - and made me all the more annoyed at how lame the Crab Droids were for the Separatists -
the huge crab droid and the homing spider droid both suck compared to this.
I'll use the Telosian Tank Droid as a proxy, until a couple of other Garage Kits (alfred Wong or MvM) droids become available, or I get the k8203 working more detailed, or I win lottery for Shapeways, whichever happens first hehehe.

yeah,
for those not inclined to use gamers,
and as interesting a thread as it was... (some earlier ideas looked promising too)

16. NR-N99 Droid Enforcer - HUGE
Seps
65pts
130HP
16DEF
12ATK
30DMG
Special Abilities
Droid
Speed 8

Damage Reduction 10 [Whenever this character takes damage, reduce the damage dealt by 10. Attacks with lightsabers ignore this special ability.]

Dual Weapon Use [Replaces attacks; Make 1 attack, then use a special abilty that replaces attacks]

Mount 2 [This character can transport 2 Small or Medium allies who ends their move adjacent to it. Remove that ally from the battle grid; they move simultaneously with this character, have cover, and are considered adjacent to it. They can make attacks, counting distance from this character. A transported ally can return to the battle grid immediately before your first activation of the round. If this character is defeated, the transported ally is also defeated; save 6.]

Mounted Weapon

Pulse Cannon 40 [Replaces attacks: sight; 40 damage to target and to each character adjacent to that target; on a save of 11, reduce the damage to 10]

Stun Mortar [Replaces attacks: sight; living target and each living character adjacent to that target are considered activated this round; save 11 negates. Huge and larger characters ignore this special ability.]

Stable Footing (Not slowed by difficult terrain or low objects)

this piece just cements how lame the Crab Droid and Huge Crab Droid, Octuptarra and Telosian Tank Droid actually were...
WotC missed the mark with those.
a lot of droid-faction pieces have been lame. But, the AAT, and this droid, they go well towards solving that.

in 250 pts or larger, or in Dynamic Duos,
this custom will be making waves.
It is on par with or slightly better than the X1, and it affords the Seps mobility,
allowing for IG-88 and some 88 assassins to move foward near cover.
The downside is some clumping, and a steep points cost.
Stun Mortar makes this piece like Bossk meets a walker, although I'd probably prefer Bossk and a couple of Droidekas etc over the NR-N99 droid.

Let's compare the NR-N99 to the AAT, Hailfire Droid, Large Homing Spider Droid, the MAF or the MTT,
it outshine those in every way, but is easily more expensive... for only 2/3rds the potential damage output.
But, it can stun stuff, better than Jolt, Scramble etc...

As I've said though, I'd like to hear more of other peoples thoughts there,
and a lot of the preliminary variantions are inspiring for the Scorponek and Annihilator Heavy Droid (those looked like scorponeks, but had that weird bubble projector) - and at the same time, they reassure that the custom T4 Turret Droid and K9a are in a fair zone for players.
Why does the NR-N99 not have scarce materiel or similar? (is points cost thought to be steep enough to be a soft limit?)

I wonder why Staggered Activation wasn't employed, and why this variant is similar to an ATST, or ATAT lite?
Will there be a AT-TE or AT-XT on the horizon, for the republic?

anywho,
I'm also looking forward to seeing what squads people make with this!
Thanks for making a fun droid,
