So please tell my, how important is it for you being complete.

Let me know, what u collect specific and WHY ? ^^

I collect all the R´s and VR´s and only the C´s and UC´s i need for play,
because i don´t like Minis like Human Scoundrel, Human Mercenary, Thug Fringer, Duros Scoundrel ... i think there is no need to spend money on them if i didn´t really want them.

First and formost I am a Star Wars fan, these are eaisier to collect and store than the amazingly cool, yet very expensive 3 3/4 action figure line. I also play the Rpg game and love having miniatures to represent Pcs and NPCs. The skirmish game is fantastic and a lot of fun to play. With all that being said I am a completist and have at least one of every piece in the game thus far, and hope to be able to continue to do so as long as possible. The next two sets are a must for me, so I pray I have sufficient funds to continue my plastic crack habit.

I collect to play, after all, no point having a faction full of figures that I will never play. XD Hence, dispite the scupts, I won't go after older figures unless they have a definate benfit of some kind to one of the factions I will run or will want to run.

I just love useful stuff and I don't like figures that lack the unique charcter spark that makes them powerful.

I've always collected only the minis I think I'd need for my games. The only time I really went out of my way to collect a whole faction was with the Yuuzhan Vong, other than that I'm happy with just getting what I need.

I've become a completionist by default-
inbetween sets I use my extras, especially those who's play value is non existant
Skiff anyone?
to get the pieces I need to finish the current sets or from the past

First i just collected Separatists, it was the Lancer time.
Its my favorite faction. Whatever they wasn´t really competitive in the meta, so i started collecting some playable Minis from other Factions. Than i got some good new ideas and i was missing a Mini again, after a few times i conclude to get them all with exeption of the total useless pieces (like most C +UC)

While I will work to get some of the more competitive pieces most of the time I have just collected the commons and uncommons for RPG use.

I buy them to collect and display full sets. I play because I have them.

I am a huge Star Wars fan When I first got into this game I just wanted the best minis to play with but now collecting them is just as important to me and I feel like I must have them all.

I collect minis based more on the miniature's appearance more than the actual stats. There was a time when I obsessed over stats, but that has long since passed. If a miniature has a good paint job and sculpt, it will usually find its way into my collection. I'm not as obsessed with odd size discrepancies though. A sloppy paint job and bad face will rarely make its way into my collection (Han in STA).

I've always collected to play, though I am trying to keep up with all the New Republic minis (only need Wolf Sazen and the original Kyle Katarn). Paint jobs and sculpts are of almost no concern to me; I rarely study the minis closely enough to notice such things, especially during a game.

I went out of my way to make sure I had every character who ever wore Mandalorian armor. Although, that took a lot longer than I thought it would (Fett, BH I am looking at you even though I got you in a booster).

I'm a completionist (not a word I know!). I collect at least 4 of every Common 2 of every Uncommon and 2 of every non-unique Rare and Very Rare. Although in the case of useful minis I'll double that amount. I'm in the process of updating my needs on commons and uncommons in order to have enough variety to play scenarios and such as my kids get older. I'm always on the lookout for Starcorps troopers, arc troopers, speeders, IG Lancers and such.
The only thing I haven't started chasing down are the promos, and I doubt I will.

I currently collect them all simply because I'm a huge Star Wars fan. I tend to buy a case then buy the missing VR as singles. I'll usually buy extra C/UC for role-playing.

Alas, with disposable income shinking I'm going to struggle to buy the next set. Sad

I -like- having a complete set... that's why I collect all the factions. (Altho I haven't tried too hard with the yuuzhan wrong, I'll admit.)

But there are some points where you just can't push that hard for all the R's and VR's, and if they're not playable, I won't go the extra mile.

Used to be the same way. As the game has evolved, my interest in the game side has lessened. I'm more interested in good sculpts/paint jobs and new characters. The recent IE R2 was a disgrace. A rehashed character with a sloppy paint job (not even taking into account the size of the piece). At least GaW's quality is better than IE. A horrible face or paint job can ruin a piece for me nowadays.

If you start collecting the pieces as more of a SW fan, you will learn to appreciate a good sculpted piece like Jango Fett, BH. Even C-3PO, ED can find a home on my shelf. Although I am a NR fan, I have a hard time accepting General Wedge. Good piece or not, his face looks akin to Dr. Evazan's. That's not a good thing.
