i sent an offer to "max rebo" saying I was thinking about buying his boba fett. I had to go somewhere for a couple hours, and when I came back this is the message he sent, saying that he had already sold boba:
"Well, next time you should check back more often during the day. After I sent several messages (within a half hour or so of yours) mentioning that you would have to pay for shipping, I assumed that no reply meant that you didn't like my offer. Don't just send a message and go offline. You contacted me; I didn't contact you. In other words: you snooze, you lose."
Do you guys think he should have waited a couple hours for me to get back to him, or that he had every right to sell him to whomever, whenever?

It reminds me a little of recent eBay experience. Someone was selling two copies of Kazdan. I bid on the first and had the high bid until I was sniped in the last five seconds. Now normally I'd have then bid on the second but with only 20 seconds between the two I just didn't have time and it didn't receive ANY bids. I'd already won a bid from the seller and immediately contacted them about the possibility of getting that second piece (which is really what I was hunting for) but by the time I'm sure he knew what I wanted he said he'd already sold the other piece. I can't verify or deny what happened but it did leave a bad taste.

i was debating whether it should be in trading (b/c it had to do w/ trades) or general (since the main question i'm asking is how long he should me to get back to him)

At the same time, it's ridiculous to expect someone to be online all the time. If you got back to him within a day, that's plenty.

well, chances are, someone threw a better offer at him for Fett. 10$ is really low for RS fett, and he probably accepted the better offer. Now, if you guys have exchanged addresses, and made a deal, you should put him on the BTL, but if you guys didnt exchange info, then chalk this one up as "swing and a miss". as far as waiting for replies, i never hold my breath on deals, because people are always going to go with the better offer. so with that said, you only really need to make the initial offer, if you havent gotten a response, you most likely arent going to get one, especially if that person has read the Bloomail. hope that helps ya bro......

At my local game store RS Fett sells for $30. I've been debating weither to get it or not, not sure yet.
Oh and I agree with Mandalore. Just chalk it up to a swing and a miss.

and since we are on the topic of RS Boba... how the heck is the reprint of RS Boba (RI) more valuable then the original print!? Im a comic collector, and as a collector, the original is ALWAYS more valuable then the reprint. isnt that the same with anything that is collectable? thats how it used to be. is it supply and demand? i would rather have the OG then the 5$ knock-off pulled Fett. but thats just me. But Shatterpoint, dont be discouraged by this loss....think of it as a blessing! that Boba is SoOoOo obsolete, and not playable AT ALL for his cost. Now, if yer Collecting....a 10$ swing and a miss sux, because that Boba is a great Collectors Item.

I'm going to have to agree with what a lot of others have said, he's under no obligation to accept your offer or hold anything for any period of time for you. The only exception to that would be if addresses, from both parties, were exchanged to confirm the conclusion of negotiations. That being said, I do find it ridiculous to assume that someone will be online all day and respond to a counter offer within minutes or even hours. (And that's reading a bit of rudeness into one side of what I assume would be a string of PM's from both parties.) But, it is his mini and he's free to do with it as he pleases.

I had the same problem, someone asked me for a trade. I responded within 24 hours, but he said he already made a different trade ? WTF ? Why would you send a trade request and then do that ? I live in a free country, just not free of stupid people... Certainly, it would be courteous to allow 24-48 hours for a reply.

The reprint is worth more because it is harder to find.
Not many gamers actually bought and opened many of these as most already had all the pieces and they were an awful deal ($5 for 2 minis with most of the time being 2 com/uncs).
Therefore low supply and some demand from collectors has driven the price slightly higher than the original RS release.
