quite honestly and i dont want to sound like the harbinger of doom or anything, I dont think Wizards is going to do anything that is extra for Star Wars at this time or in the future. It has become all about Magic with them. Reality must set in. We will have to enjoy what spoilers we can get because i just dont see them worrying about it.

Swm Gamers was in the preview loop while Sarah worked there. Since she has left we have heard nothing. No one told us that we could no longer do official previews... they just quit happening. I have quit expecting anything from Wizards and have come to the understanding that anything done for this game will be done by the players themselves.

However, lets keep in mind that Starwars.com still supports the preview for this coming set:

Even if Wizards has been idol lately, Starwars.com at least keeps us up to date

sadly that is because Star Wars and Lucas is probably more interested in seeing SWM sell than Wizards is. Wizards has become all about Magic and that is it.

Dean, I definitely going to agree with you on that one.... and sadly, you can see how many games like Axis and Allies, Duelmasters, Star Wars starships pummeled.....

I hope WOTC would start shedding light for future sets and prove us wrong

I would say because letting others do previews is the bare minimum.

That said, LFL being interested in keeping the game going (it is a great marketting resource) keeps me optimistic. At the very least, I am certain there is a future beyond WOTC.

...maybe SWM will change hadns (over from WotC to...?)

its a possibility, and maybe then we'll have more of a "say" in upcoming figs/sets/etc.

I too am begining to wonder if Wotc is on it's last days with this game. I wonder who would pick it up? and please not the newly reformed Wizkids!!!

If it does move, they better not reboot the whole shebang. I'll have nothing to do with it if that's the case.

Please not Wizkids, I think they would obliterate the game. However, I don't think SW miniatures is very important to Wizards anymore, heck, it's not even on the main page unless you scroll over.

Thats a pretty appealing idea, though having a new owner would probably take some time to really set in to the flow of the game. Least they would definately be dedicated to it. ^^

Plus the model appearances have been pretty horrid across the board of late. Some good stuff, but otherwise the stat card is all that can tell them who it is. XD

ILS was never contacted to do previews for this set. He was also never contacted again, as far as I know, after he sent the Q&A to Peter Lee. We aren't in anyway surprised by this. Wizards continues its extreme attitude towards lack of professionalism. Without an advocate we're sunk.

There was no Q&A with Peter Lee, just the new Brand Manager. Ironlightsaber has said he asks about it about once a week, but he replies he is busy. Which cold very well be true if he is working on more than one brand.

And didn't Peter Lee say he didn't want to do anything till Dark Times released, so he would have stuff he could actually talk about, rather than risk being put in carbonite like Rob.

Unfortunately when Sarah left so did anyone thinking it was important to listen or speak to Star Wars fans. Lets face it. Greg is getting paid whether Star Wars sells or tanks. He is doing someone elses job. The fact they cannot get the Organized Play contract done speaks volumes. They literally dont care. At this point do you want a Q&A with Greg or would honestly like to re-do the questions. I would like to ask questions about the future and that lack of communication. But lets be honest those are questions they wont answer. We know this because the won't even answer game related questions.

It is really sad that we have reached this point because a small amount of communication as always could cure a ton of ills.

Well I as at ACD Game Days in September and asked the Wizards rep if they planned any kind of support for SWM like they have for Magic. They answer was no since they just had Magic 2010 come out. For the foreseeable future they will be focused on D&D and Magic.
