GOWK' Pros (With Errata
Near invincable at range with a ample selection of forcepoints. The only way to inflict effective damage aside from getting in his face is to use the force. Sigicantly stronger commander effect, has board wide effect. High natural Stats Strong selection of abilitys, including renewal, Mettle and 22 defence, with solid attack stats and force speed and what is effectively evade.
Cons:
While he can hit often, he's not really much of a brawler. Damage on the move is just 20. Due to lacking his melee abilitys, no longer the crazy melee piece he once was.
GM Yoda
pros Very offensive at mid range: Capable of inflicting up to 80 damage to a single figure at mid range with Lightsaber throw More capable in close combat, with lightsaber defence. Better mid range ability: Throw is better then Push, since it's more damage and does not knock target away, while Obi needs to remain stationary a turn to use push.
Cons: Much weaker commander effect, loses board wide effect and 1 to both stats. Much less powerful abilitys: Aside from Lightsaber defence and Throw and master style that is condictional at close range, he has no other gimmics in the force. It's really kind of sad that the game is telling us that Obi-Wan is more powerful in the force then Yoda. Much less surviable: No natural evade. nuff said.
To me, it's fairly obivious that Obi is the better overall, infact, even with the errata, it does not really change the fact that he's pretty broken. No longer effective in melee is kind of void since that was not really his speciality in the first place, it was to absorb hits and distract long enough for the killers to finish killing.
Any thoughts on this?

It honestly depends on what you're after.
If I'm after CE, I'd go with GOWK. He may not be the super-defensive piece he once was, but he's still a great way to handle all the super-shooters around. Dash/Rex/Cad Bane giving you problems? Base them with GOWK. ( A bit reckless though)
If I'm after power and offense I'd use GMY. Lightsaber Throw, Ataru Style Mastery, He's made to dish out damage and his CE isn't half bad either.

Any thoughts on this? He is no longer near broken. If you have ever seen him go against Dooku of Serreno, you would realize just how quickly he goes down. Now, every melee piece is like Dooku of Serenno. Hell, the new Jedi Hunters alone will rip him up.

I do like how the errata gave GMY a shot in the current meta. In the end though, I'd play GOWK competitively. Great CE and still godly defenses at range. However, for casual play, I really like running in Yoda and turning on his monkey-fu, so I will still use him there.

One interesting piece of this, is that GMY is in a sense, a direct counter to GOWK now :) One Aturu double twin where Yoda is hitting at a +19 4xs and GOWK is likely down to 1/2hps or less. Further LS Throw gives Yoda the chance to eliminate GOWK's R2 early on, and he can use LS Defense on GOWK's two attacks. He also provides a great interference with Force Defense to GOWK, being able to defense any fprrs from Yoda's own shooters that get through the first save. All in all, he replaces Dooku (who wasn't a good tournament mini in any sense of the word) as the "direct" counter to GOWK. If you expect a tournament full of GOWK, run Yoda and you likely can win the "mirrors".
And if you decided on a Yoda/Flobi squad, that double becomes a triple twin :)
Just as an idea, here's an example. --GOWK's Counter - Yoda GM-- 66 Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi General 55 Grand Master Yoda 35 Zuckuss, Bounty Hunter 11 ARF Trooper 10 Rodian Raider 9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid 8 Mas Amedda 6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2
(200pts. 9 activations)
Alternative would be to change out the support, but that isn't particularly critical. Zuckuss is nice for setting up Flobi and Yoda's attacks. Double with him at +16 and 27d in cover makes him pretty consistent. The Arf gets double and recon which ties in with Zuck's anticipation nicely. The Rodian was just a late filler with quad 9s :) Point of it is simple. Lock something in place with Zuckuss, then either tow for a twin throw Yoda, or move in for attacks. Triple Yoda (potencially with twin) and double Flobi combined with their insane defenses works nicely. Yoda takes on melee, and Flobi takes on non-melee. Zuckuss locks up whomever is needed.

I think it depends greatly on what you expect to use that piece for in the game. If you a defensive player and want a better CE, go with GOWK. If you want to be aggressive and you are going to stick close anyway, go with GMY. As pointed out, he can eliminate pieces quickly from range. GOWK is less defensive against melee pieces, but most will base him and only get one attack. If he wins initiative, he'll push that melee piece away who will have to return and only get one attack. Meanwhile his helpers can do some damage. GMY is much more of an in-your-face fighter. Either can be just as effective as the other depending on play style and support.
A conundrum that I've had encountered while reading all these GOWK is back posts is how much of an impact he might have on the national meta. As has been pointed out, there are now ample ways to take GOWK out in just a couple activations (anything with Jedi Hunter is solid). So, if you are preparing for a big tourney, knowing he is so vulnerable, would you still build with him hoping to face shooters only? Most people won't play shooters only because they will usually lose to a GOWK build, so lots of melee. So much melee it isn't worth taking GOWK. So few people are bringing GOWK, it is now safe to build all shooter squads again. Round and round. lol I'm just having fun with some twisted logic. I know it's the whole rock-paper-scissors idea which keeps the meta fresh - so the change will probably bring about the desired effect in the long run. It will be quite interesting to see it all play out and how everyone shifts squad builds and play style.
One more thought, when the new scoring goes into effect, I think GMY will become the better piece of the two since GOWK is meant to be defensive and so many saves that he might go to time more than once in a tourney.

Don't forget Yoda's +30 HP, and +1 attack. The extra HP is extremenly useful. Force Defence has made a huge difference in many of my games. Also using Mas Ameeda with his CE lets you split up your troops. On a side note, Obi only has 22 def.

Aye, I noticed the errors, so edited them out.
It's very interesting to hear the opinons though, reading through them now, perhaps how something looks on paper is not normally how it preforms. I don't really have a lot to say right now as I am currently preparing myself for an event, but I will probably comment later. ^^

I think both has a nice place in the game. As each is designed to do a different job, and both Ce's are powerful, one is dependent on Mas to get full effect, the other is dependent on teammates.
