I honestly wouldn't be surprised if SWM is continued by the Star Wars franchise. They certainly have been pushing it more. Plus you don't have nearly as much legal hassle with another company. If they don't take SWM, I can bet another company will.

So I mean seriously we have another set coming out in April likely a "Vault" set of unproduced figs or reprinted "Classics" we have some of the most Passionate and devoted Fan leaders of ANY game I've ever played! tournaments and events can be played and supported for years to come- look at he CCG- they kept it on the books LONG after it was dead and kept a tournament enviroment for it active well after it was "viable" we can do the same if not better so, there won't be New figs after April... that doesn't stop people from playing a good game and making it fun If HeroClix can be restored surley Star Wars has a better chance than they did who know's maybe Fantasy Flight Games or Green Ronin or hell even Hasbro upper level productions could pick it up

I couldn't agree more. There is still money to be made from a business side. So much untapped potential.

Well, I am still in shock. We will see. Whether this game continues with a company or via the fans, it will continue.
In fact, it is probably a good thing we have the 181st Pilot/Elite AT-AT Driver situation on the rules right now...

I think there is a significant difference this time. With Heroclix, the entire company shut down and went up for sale. This is just WotC no longer making one of its products. Would a new company have to buy the rights to the mechanics in addition to the paying the licensing fee? If WotC didn't see it as a good investment, I don't see how another company will do any better. I would imagine that another company would want to make a Star Wars game that uses miniatures, but I doubt that it would be the same game, or even compatible. Personally, as an avid Heroclix player and collector, I would love to see NECA/Wizkids pick up the license, but I know most SWM players probably wouldn't like that.

I think Wizards just decided they had done enough bumbling with the product. Honestly, I'm not sure I've seen a company handle its product much worse. I really think the Star Wars brand will pick this game up. Even if you have to buy the mechanics, you are still saving money on the SW licensing side. If I had quite the fortune, I'd see a business opportunity here.

That makes the most sense. As a collector of just Hasbro SW action figures and SWM, what does the Star Wars brand produce themselves?

I'd like it to be compatible, but I wouldn't be surprised if a reboot (rules wise) was in order. I can't imagine Star Wars wanting to pay for WotC's mechanics. If they can avoid it, they probably would.

I'm not trying to start anything, but what is this "Star Wars Brand" that you are refering to that would pick up the game? I don't think Star Wars is a company unto itself that would be able to manufacture SWM. LFL makes money by licensing the Star Wars brand to other people to produce items (clothes, games, toys), they don't make anything but movies.

Mind you, I'm not 100% positive. I'm simply trying to think how the game can be picked up with the least amount of problems. I very well could be thinking along the lines of licensing the SW brand to other companies.
