why the sudden jump in prices? ashared hett alone almost reached $50 several times, and he isn't even competetive? the other pieces average around $20!

you must have missed it on gamers and elswhere
.. several online retailers reported 'mis packing' of Hett and put out several verry agressive requests for buy backs on Hett claiming him to be "Short packed"

indeed he's not much of a fig
but look at Maul, VAU and Revan all are less then top 10 figs but all are ove the $40.00 mark

perceptionis reality,
if the buyers percieve it to have value then retailers will exploit that detail
Period

i thought it was just auggies that got unlucky, i didn't see the other retailers' shortages of hett. that still doesn't explain why the other vr's are still catching very high prices.

prices are always higher when a new set comes out. give it a few and the prices will level.

The prices are likely high right now because of a) Hype because it's a new set and b) People know it's the second-to-last set, thus are more likely to want to do everything they can to complete this particular set.

That said, some people always want to have a complete set. Because of the stories we've heard (such as Auggies only getting 11 Hetts out of 90 cases), there's a perception that something wonky happened with the lot numbering and thus people are willing to pay the high price. People don't always base their purchases on whether a particular piece is highly "playable", thus the high price. As long as someone's willing to buy it, the price will be high. When Hetts start sitting on the shelf at $40, the price will drop.

$50 or even $40 is so ridiculous for a piece of junk like Hett, you can find Boba, BH's for less then that! Like Demosthenes said, people are all hyped up about the new set. Being it the second to last just makes it worse. Give it some time, and the prices will drop.

And there are also people who buy for the RPG, because they like the sculpt, or because they like the character. An example is that, even though some of the Sith pieces aren't that good, I want to get them because I enjoyed them in KotOR or stuff like that.

I can see why...I've opened 3 cases and had the exact same VR distribution:

Kir Kanos
Dass Jennir
Jax Pavan
Feris Olin

Very depressing.

It's probably true for most of North America, with distribution issues. There were no Kirs, Hetts, or Pavans opened at my release tourney, with competition boosters or others.

There's probably some game store in the middle of Australia or something with piles of Hetts.

We pulled a number of those in down in Southern Illinois. All three were in the case I bought, plus saw them at our release tourney.

Don't bet on it. My usual store is fresh out of Hetts, as well. They should have kept the case they sent me.

I guess Kir Kanos decided he liked Idaho, we had 6 cases opened and all 6 had Kir Kanos, and 5 out of 6 had Chewie, and Bomo. We had 2 Hetts that I recall, neither of which were in my boosters....DANG IT!

I can't complain, got 2 cases and 2 Hett's (but 2 Bomo's also, he's not quite as popular it seems)

What about K'Kruhk, has anyone pulled an excess or shortage of him?

I haven't heard of any shortages of him. I got Hett, Bomo, Ferus and Dass.

I did however buy single boosters other places and I've pulled K'Kruhk and 2 Jax's.

Nobody in my normal game places have pulled Kanos.

Was just thinking about VAU. He's $30-$45. I made a squad with Darth Tyranus DLotS and everybody said "don't use him, he sucks." He's got more SAs and better stats than VAU for 1 more point and I can't even give my extra one away.
