Is there a way to play on Vassal against somone that is NOT in it to get another win? Are there any players that I should play that are good at helping newbies?
Thanks for your help.

um yes... sort of
if you need help players like Lobostele Boba52 jedispyder There is no try (TINT) Fingers and teeth _NickName_ are great to Play because they enjoy teaching AND are top players
my suggestion would be to contact a player whom you trust, or respect and schedule a vassle session

well now see Madman you just dont get on vassal much. That entire list is terrible. Not that what you said isnt true about them as people. The list is terrible because they are virtually never on vassal. My suggestion to the OP is to get on vassal and watch a couple of games. then make a room called test. Go in there and try some thing out. Then once you have done that ask someone for a game and inform them of you newness. most folks are fine with it. I think you will find guys like Bill and I suffer of vassal more than others about the just to win mindset. I cannot tell you the number of "fun" games I have started that my opponent rolled out the latest in the Meta while I sit there with my fun Old Republic sqaud wondering what my opponent's definition of fun is. i cannot tell you the number of fun games where my opponent has stated well you are the Number one player in the world so I thought this Meta squad would be fun against you. So just communicate with your opponent and hopefully everything will be fine.

Dean, if you had noticed Madman stated to contact one of the players they trust and set up a time to work on playing. So even though those players aren't on Vassal often, if someone were to ask them if they could help out they'd make an effort to get one to help.

Wait, are you really the #1 player in the world? LOL, regardless of the messed up quote... Yes, Dean has been the #1 ranked DCI player for some time. Granted, DCI rankings don't really mean that much though. While Dean is an excellent player, I'd be more likely to argue that prior GenCon or European Championship winners are more like the "#1 players in the world". Oh, and Dean.... to you too. I play as soon as I have time to do so. :P Not my fault I have a life on the weekends and don't hang out on Vassal constantly.

ive played quite a few games on Vassal in the past, until my old computer died and i became too lazy to reinstall and reconfigure vassal, but TINT was THE best player in my opinion. you could play competitive or casual and he always provided constructive feedback on my squad
