I just saw the preorder sheet that distributors send to LGSs, and it had what I think is new information re: the MOTF set. Here is the blurb from that document (I also posted this on WOTC, but am posting it here and on SWMGamers in case they don't keep it up -- though I'm pretty sure this is public information at this point):

“The greatest Star Wars heroes and villains of all eras explode into battle across the galaxy! Experience the power of these mighty wielders of the Force as they face off in epic confrontations! Re-enact classic duels or create your own battle spanning all of the Star Wars universe. Collect Darth Vader, Yoda, Mace Windu, Freedon Nadd, Cay Qel-Droma, and other masters of the Force as well as incredible creatures from the famous dejarik hologame aboard the Millennium Falcon!”

So, I think the 8 dejarik figures were confirmed by the WOTC announcement, and Mace was known from the booster art, but I think the rest are new confirmations.

Darth Vader – Imperials; was likely, now confirmed

Mace -- Republic, pretty much confirmed from booster art

Yoda – Guessing Rebels (would be great if it were a hologram to go with Anakin and Obi-Wan holograms), was likely, now confirmed

Freedon Nadd – Guessing Sith based on this Wookieepedia entry: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Freedon_Nadd

Cay Qel-Droma – Guessing Old Republic based on this Wookieepedia entry: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cay_Qel-Droma

So, it looks like they are definitely adding to the lesser factions, which gives me hope for the Vong and Mandalorians.

Here's a golden opportunity to get Ulic into the OR.

Of course, this is still a Wizards designed game, so that generally means opportunities are wasted seemingly on purpose.

As I stated on Gamers, I think the amount of new opportunities depends on how much involvement Peter Lee had with the set. I love all the work Rob did for the game, but it seems that Peter Lee is the one who breathed new life into it with new opportunities. So I'm hoping the minis won't be too cookie cutter...

If it's a Yoda, Force Spirit that grants a different ability, that might actually be nice. See my hopes for such a figure at the following page (also hoping to hear what other people's hopes are):

So, possibly 3 force spirits, including the long awaited Freedon Nadd Sith one. I guess that confirms Sith and OR Uniques as well. Very cool.

Well, the Mandos did help me out lots when I was playing LS KotoR II.

Also, I'm not so sure that freedon Nadd has to be a Spirit. Or maybe I just hope he's not.

Well, even if we do get OR Mandos, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't get that many. Ulic is 61 points, and if Cay is of a similiar cost then you'll be spending 120-odd points before you start adding the Mandos.

Freedon Nadd will be good to see. You can never have enough Sith Lords. BigGrin

Of course they finally make a Freedon Nadd, now that the comic shop I go to is making one literally from scratch out of resin and painting and doing a professional looking stat card. Thanks WOTC

Not to be a snot, but that is why I would wait on these types of projects until after we get the Motf set list. We are doing the same thing at my Lgs with "smooth-on" molds and resins and have a tentative list in place, but work has not commensed until we for sure know what we are and aren't getting. We will then adjust our list appropriatley. Honestly it isn't Wotcs fault, though I can relate to the pain of taking all the effort to make it and find out there will be an official one. Out of curiosity is yours going to be a spirit or the man? We still don't know for sure what we are getting, Spirit or man.

*the smooth on product works great by the way, the casting with a little work on bleed lines in the mold come out looking just like a wotc mini but all in the black. These teamed with the eventual virtual cards from Gamers, are really going to keep the game going at my venue. Price isn't all that bad(less than a dollar per casting, including paint costs). You simply make one custom using existing pieces, green stuff(sculpy if you prefer), or whatever else you can use, and then make a rubber mold. You can then make as many castings as you want once the mold is done correctly(this is key). Each player then can paint as they please, but you at least get the same shape for each character, so their is some group wide recognition and no confusion. Plus these are much stronger than your typical custom, as no pinning is required. For the most part they will all be one piece. Of course just like some of Wotc's line, some more complex poses and characters will require two or more pieces. We are attempting to find a glue that is the same strength as the one Wotc uses...any ideas?

Yes, it would be great, I still believe one of the side pictures on Mace's booster art is him(one on the bottom)

The problem there is that I don't think he's been in any stories where he's alive.

You are correct, he hasn't appeared in any stories alive. However for whatever reason if you check wookiepedia there are pictures of him during his life. So they could choose either incarnation.
I always thought an Exar Kun, Sith Spirit would have been cool. I never gave much thought to a Nadd one. For whatever reason I always figured they would do him as a normal living being. I wonder what they would have done with Marka Ragnos if they ever had gotten around to him....
