So.
I've just finished a 500-point game against Sharron (which took two nights) and late last year had one against KFC (which took several nights on Vassal) and I must admit I'm becoming a little bit obsessed with the big Battle... so much so that Sharron and I are talking up the 2175-point battle over a day...
...which gets me thinking: Ladies and Gentlemen (ladies?), what is the biggest points game you've played? I've heard of a 4-way 1000-pointer which took a day (from 8am till 11)... but I'd like to see what you guys (and gals?) have done! How many points? How many activations? Factions? Banned-Characters (such as Mas)? What map/surface? Special rules? How'd you get permission from the wife for such a long game? How long did it take? Wow me with your tales of the obsessive.
You rule. Especially you.

Just for fun, my friend and I had a 1000 point battle with no faction restrictions on JC's Coruscant maps from MP2. I took over an hour and a half just to pick pull out all the appropriate card, pieces, and set up. Just because I could, I ran masses of stormies with so many commanders that they became mini Dash Rendars. It wasn't very practical though, it was so hard to keep track of everything, and each round takes a ridiculous amount of time.

I'd have to say the biggest battle I've done was against my brother where he had all his Republic pieces face off against all my Separatist pieces (no doubles of uniques). Both squads had to be well over 500 points.
I absolutly love massive SWM battles. Only problem is that (like trying to play scenarios) very few people I know actually want to play them. Landscape battles with SWM seem to be the only way to get big armies out there (rules are a bit different for movement and LoS), but I've only seen two played at my LGS in the 4-5 years I've been playing SWM.

Biggest I've ever done? Only about 300. I have heard of some of the folks at the LGS getting together for a 1000 point Imp-Reb match on a huge custom Death Star map, and we were planning a 3000-point Battle of Hoth scenario to be played around Christmas last year. Wow, was that something. We had two pieces of styrofoam probably 10' by 8' fully painted and detailed, with 3-D ice caves, outcrops, crags, depressions, trenches, you name it. The problem was the area was struck by a nasty rainstorm about that time and part of the shops' ceiling fell in and drenched the styrofoam board, making it completely useless as well as putting the LGS out of comission for a few days. The silver lining in that though was we had put the boards on top of our gaming lockers. By taking the water for that, we lost only a board instead of hundreds if not thousands of dollars in gaming supplies.

did a 3 way 250 250 team vs a 500 team, all melee no faction restrictions no reserves that was the funnest game ive played. i do a lot of big battles at home, my restrictions usually are no tempo no reserves and in some cases no gmls because the higher the points the better luke gets

the biggest i have done was a 1000 point battle with 3 people on 2 maps put together. It Was Seps Vs Republic, Vs Empire. And it came out before BOunty Huntewrs so alot of the seps stuff wasnt to good. The republic had about 15 commandos and baccara with Windu (For extra attack) Queen amidalla, Mas, and a bunch of other republic jedi and commanders.

Totally agree on that point. For the humongous (1000 point) battles you are much better off borrowing the Warhammer 40k terrain and translating "squares" to "inches." In fact, while you're at it, borrow the Warhammer turn structure too (each person moves all of their pieces). It's a lot easier when you just move your 20 stormtroopers are one unit and roll 20 D20's at once. Mas Amedda does get a bit silly, though, and you kind of have to massage override or get rid of it.

I once did a 500 point battle where I played GGDAC, a Few Tanks, and sidious and a B'omarr and a ton of battle droids, + the necessary commanders agaisnt my opponent, who must have had 90 younglings Quiggy JT, GMY, Amidala and Mon Mothma (this was on vassal) I thought about putting Telosians in instead of the CA Tank, and the fact taht I had no spash meant i was overrun pretty quickly. I also was stupid and got dooku locked in a room, which was too bad since once I got out the younglings couldn't come close to touching him. The problem was that he rolled like 8 straight 15+ rolls against my tanks on his youngling death shots.

I've never played a big match but I would like to. They sound like they are a lot of fun. We have played a lot of 3 player matches. Usually every man for him self. Also several 4 player matches, some 2 on 2.

GMLS was able to benefit many jedi. We watched Mara Jade kill Luke COTF in a single turn with ls assault/twin/cunning. Zayne carrick hit kyle kattarn JM with the cortosis gauntlet, Darth Bane died to GMLS in a single turn. Those games are lots of fun. My friend and I are planning on doing a themed 400 battle with Black Sun vs Jabba's Crime syndicate. Its going to be awesome! Were really tempted to do the battle of Hoth soon, by combining two of the hoth maps and having two AT-AT's.

The 2 hoth maps, I was thinking of trying that same thing, that's cool. I need another AT-AT and map though. Black Sun Vs Jabba sounds really cool too!

Back in the day we played a 1600 point game. My entire collection against whatever my brother wanted out of his collection. It was on 2 damaged Christophsis maps so we had a large room in the middle. Needless to say it took 12 hours and we only had 3 rounds of play before I got sick of it. Mainly because he had Darth Vader Dark Jedi and couldn't miss his shots. I was losing, so just conceded the game. Was not fun. I would perhaps try it again, but ban Vader Dark Jedi.

I used the Mos Eisley map pack for a 2000 pt Republic vs Separatist squad in my room, with me playing both sides. One round took about an hour, and I eventually gave up and packed it up.

Funny you should mention that Lefties, I contacted Nick Name about his Solo Play Scenario and was asking him about making adjustment's that could be used for the mini's that aren't Savage character's. There are lot's of time's I'd like to play a match but don't have anyone to play against. Maybe I'll work on that this week. I also contacted Mr. Sterling Hershey. He said that he test's his scenario's by playing them out by himself. What about going down to 500 pts?

That's the first time (since I began) that I heard someone say such awesome things about Darth Vader, Dark Jedi!

I am also a fan of the big matches although whenever we tried to plan smthn over 1000, somthn always got cancelled either by a wife or somthing more serious like my sister getting in an accident. So the biggest that I've done was a 500 pnt. But the most fun we've had is doing something we call the royal rumble. It's a 4 player thing. Allways played on the arena from the map pack. I think it was the asajj one. Anyways pick 2 pieces up to 100 pnts ( so kind of like dynamic duo except you don't need to be exactly 100 and no faction rules apply ). Pick 3 seperate squads like that. Everyone picks 1 squad to start places the pieces adjacent to one of the 4 doors. And start playing every man for himself. If u lose both minis put ur second squad adjacent to ur starting door at the beging of the next initative roll and start again. Last team standing is the winner. A lot of fun I would really suggest trying it. All royal rumbles are inside the arena none of the other rooms exist there like walls so there is no escape just an all out rumbele hence why we called it a royal rumble
