Worth more in what way? There's a difference between what a map is worth in competitive terms, and what it's worth if you tried to sell it on Ebay. Not exactly sure which you're looking for.

As for popular...well, that really depends on local play groups though too. In general though, the maps for the Attack on Endor pack are typically the most balanced overall, and so I find that those are quite popular. Also the Throne Room map (which I think you're referring to as '2007, not the Korriban one'), is one that a lot of local players in my group like to use.

I cruise eBay from time to time looking for cheap maps, but have never gotten any definitive 'price' for an individual map, to know if I'm getting ripped off or not. So I hope someone drops by and clues me in! =)

Also, in a slightly unrelated note, I think it'd be really cool if there was a way for us to add our Haves/Wants/Trades for Maps as well as for Minis.

Well, if you're playing DCI, 2007 Starter, the AoE maps, and Starship will get you 5 of the 6 legal maps for 200. Ravaged Base, Starship, Throne Room (2007 starter), and Muunlinst are all very popular and good maps to have.

As far as "worth" goes, Ultimate Missions' maps and Taris are pretty hard to get, and so might be deemed "worth" more.

Still a great map to play on casually though. There's some insane LOS's on it...

It's not illegal. It's just been moved to the 'Open' map list. Trust me, if you'd played at GenCon this past year or at the Regionals on that map, you'd be glad it wasn't allowed in high-end tournaments. Honestly though, Regionals and GenCon will likely be the only places where you'll see people be ultra picky about what maps get used. I think we'll find that most LGS will allow the 'Open' list most of the time. I know ours does.

Oh, and as a note: Starship from the ROTS starter is NOT on the Restricted list.

As for value....

For the three maps from the Attack on Endor pack, I would never pay more than $5 apiece for those ones, as you can go places online and buy a brand new pack for less than the $10 it would cost you to get the maps separately.

Throne Room is the same way. It's readily available from both the ROTS Ultimate Missions book and the 2007 Starter. It's not worth more than $7-$10 by itself.

Taris is certainly worth more, and the extra copy I had I traded for a VR, so I'd rank it's value around $20. That might fluctuate some now that it's not a high-end tourney legal map, but I think its value will still stay relatively high because of it's limited quantity release.

As for Starship being "a good one"? Personally, I don't really care for that map. It's a good map, don't get me wrong, but I typically feel like whoever gets the reactor core side of the map has a massive advantage, because they can hide behind the wall to gather gambit. Now, if I've built a squad that is primarily designed to fight from the 'bad' side of Starship, then I'll play it all day long. I oftentimes would choose any of the 3 AoE maps, or the Throne Room before I'd choose Starship though.

.

I was under the impression that only the standard/restricted (ie, not open) map choices were allowed in official, sanctioned, rated dci tourneys.

On average maps ate about $5 or $7 on ebay

One a paid for once was $10

It was something I had never seen before, being a repack of the death star map, but on THICKER and as such stronger poster, and it had a sheet with a scenario on it for the map

The auctioneer said he used to work for WOTC and the map came from there

Haven't seen any others like it

He was selling 3 of them

This was a scenario for the Death Star map that was sent out as part of the League Kits at one point, in place of a repainted mini. There's about 6-7 such scenarios on card stock out there.

Based on your list the order of popularity are as follows:

Rancor Pit -1
Ravaged Base -2
Muunlist Plaze - 3
Chancellors Throne room - 4
Massassi Temple - 5
Starship - 6
Endor Surface/ Korriban - 7th and tied for least desirable

As far as worth you need to kind of put them together how they come packaged.

Rancor/ Ravaged/ Massassi / Endor - All part of AOE pack.... you should not pay more then $9 for this period. Should be able to get this with all the maps for around 5-6. Great bargain.

Chancellors Throne Room / korriban - 2007 starter . Again same deal you should not pay more than $9 in any way for this. Not a good as bargain but still reasonably priced.

Muunlist and Starship - Both are seperate but I lumped them together because they are getting ahrder and harder to find. The truth is you are probably going to pay a minimum of $20 for each of these maps unless you find some sort of special deal.

And to think when I was organizing I got about 15 of these for free from a LGS and handed them out like candy. BlooMilk
I don't think I have any extras...

Well, yeah, I ended up with like 5-6 at one point too. I guess I should have clarified by saying that I traded my LAST extra one for a VR. It is quite irritating that they didn't choose to reprint that one with a wider availability. Perhaps if another company buys the rights to the game from WOTC, it would also gain the option of reprinting old products, and we could have the Taris map be part of a Starter box or something.

Really? Rancor Pit is the most popular? I haven't seen anyone play that map in ages...

From what I have seen over the last two years. Gencon, Regionals and what people play locally to what they play on vassal. I would say it is number one out of that list.

I know for a lot of guys it is their main map. They have the AOE pack and it is their favorite one out of it.

Obviously can't speak for elsewhere, but here in the ATL Ravaged Base is the most popular (by far), followed by Rancor Pit and Throne Room. Bespin is the least popular because somehow none of us has a copy!
