I have everything updated and everything in the right folders, but I can't see if anyone is online. ( I AM logged into the server by the way)
Any suggestions.
running 9.0
running newest version of vassal
all maps in the right place

Anyone have any clue as to why I can't see any info in the game/room windows? i had this prob. too. :) so...: 1) click on the room you want to join (ex., "Creme_Brule vs. Sashlon") . 2) Right click on the room you want to join, and there's a little menu that pops up. click on "Join Room". 3) on the main bar of VASSAL, there's two white blank rectangles...the first says the rooms there are active and the second one next to it is blank. once you click "join room", the second blank white rectangle should fill up withthe people active in that room. right click on aany of them (usually the ones playing the game) and under the popup menu click "syncronize". a whole new window should pop up, and it should be self-explanatory from there. :) hope that helped. There is a synchronize selection when someone is already in a room. If I remember right you right click on the person in the room then click synchronize. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.  Yup, sorry, didn't read thru the whole post. Creme_brule posted this at the end of his.

Thanks for the help guys. I know all about joining rooms and synching to see games. The problem I am having is that the windows are completely blank. I have no games to click.
I think I have the problem figured out. I have several options for wireless internet since I live on campus.
Campus wireless = can't see games
Free City Wide Wireless = works just fine
I'm on now on the free wireless, so I'll just have to rely on that.

I'll ask around and see what they have to say, And let you know bud.  Maybe there are some setting's or something you can change around that will get the Campus one working for you too.

Yep, you figured it out. They have the port blocked at the firewall. If the free city wireless quits working for you I know someone we might be able to ask to make an exception to that policy.

Yup, I asked the networking Guru at school today and he said the same thing. Your campus probably has it blocked as it isn't school related. His example to me was that some school's block "World of Warcraft" because it isn't a learning tool for student's. Then he went on to say that our school doesn't block that because it is a related field. Sorry Art.  Was hoping I might have been more of a help to you.
