We had our sealed tournament Tuesday night. I was big time due for a good pull after the "Cade/Qui Gon" debacle of 2009's sealed tournament.
First Pack: Hoth Second Pack: Yoda
I was super pleased. What did you all pull?
I bought another pack: Arden Lyn, traded to a Lyn fanatic for Darth Nihilus...yeah...wow

Hoth, Lando--perfect setup in terms of forcing people to want to kill Lando to get Impulsive twin.
Also pulled the perfect Dejarik Synergy--Smuggler's Luck, The Bodyguard and the one with the Screech abilities.

Nice, pulling the rebel trooper with grenades 30 was awesome. I hit 4 guys in one lob. My brother pulled the Cay and the Kit Fisto, he won it all

We ran a 150, 2 booster sealed. I pulled Han and Kit. Did pretty good. My squad was Han, Kit, Rebel Soldier guy, Houjix, the Dejarik with a hammer (can't remember his name lol) and a Rodian Diplomat. Did decently well. The winner ran Anakin and Plo, with lots of cool Jedi support (Healer, Instructor, and others). It was great fun!

voolvif monn and yoda....ouch was the story of my night, commons were horrible too no red hand troops, no chiss no rebel troops, two sullustans were my shooters, for dejariks i pulled houjix and the one with the init ability, so my squad had the ability to roll init 3 times with the dejarik and voolvif monns anticipation, and it did nothing for me

I came in first after pulling Kit Fisto and Plo Koon. I used Ravage Base all 3 matches and set up outside, always making it so I can get off Shi-Cho with Kit by meeting in the middle. I had the Monnok and Mantellian Savrip for init control, Chiss Trooper for Opportunist and Death Shot, Sullustan Scout for Cunning, and Ewok Warrior. First 2 games I faced Kit Fisto and Vader and 3rd game I faced Lord Hoth and Vader (I wailed on Hoth first so he wouldn't get Twin, plus Vader is a huge annoyance with Djem So and Lightsaber Riposte). Overall a great tourney, we did a draft at the end with 8 boosters and I was able to get Lord Hoth.
Other funny things that happened is one of my friends lost because his General Solo (his only piece) killed Cay Qel-Dromo (his opponent's only piece) but failed Cay's Legacy, thus "betraying" and giving his opponent General Solo.
The surprise huge piece in the opener was the Jedi Healer, that was used in 2 of my 3 games and it was a huge annoyance against me.

I was SO close to beating the guy who won the Tournament. It came down to his half-health Anakin and a 10-HP Jedi Healer, and my half-health General Solo. I had been rolling hot with Solo the whole match, and then when I needed that last initiative to get off my double Longshot +20, my opponent rolled a 20 for initiative. C'est la vie. *sigh*

I got Vader and Lando as my Rares, so I ran a Vader squad with motly Melee pieces. There were two things I learned from the touney. First, Jedi Healer and Houjix are phenominal together! I was able to avoid a lot of damage using those two effectively. Secondly, Grenades 30 on the Rebel soldier does wonders in this set. Everybody is getting bunched-up in the middle of the map, so the effect of the SA can be significant. I went 2-1 and finished fourth out of nine. Not bad, but there were things I could have done differently that would have prevented my loss. For instance, Jedi Instructor has Soresu. Try to remember that when your opponent is pinging you from across the map.

I pulled Plo Koon with General Solo, lets just say I cleaned up house, because we played open factions for 150 points and this allowed Plo to gain Long shot 10 and with Precision 10 and Opportunist +4 +10 and Double Attack. One turn Cay Qel-Droma is dead, add some crits in there and the Dejarik pieces were dropping like flies. :-)

With Smuggler's Luck/or Recon and Anticipation you have FOUR rolls, as Anticipation allows you to reroll BOTH initiaitive rolls.

I pulled Freedon Nadd and Saesee Tiin for the sealed. I ended up playing Nadd, Houjix, Savrip, Gammorrean BG, and a Red Hand Trooper. I ended up finishing in 2nd place, my lone loss coming to a Kit/Han team. On a dour note, my Nadd never rolled above a 6 everytime I attacked Kit Fisto who was Shii-Choing. I might've won that game if I had played Nadd and Tiin together instead.

I pulled Voolvif Monn and Mace. My squad was: Mace Jedi Instructor Chiss trooper Houjix Sullustan Toydarian Ewok
I came in 2nd after rolling 6x 1's (all attack rolls, one was a Mace FR) in my game against the guy who came in 1st (he had Mace and Saessee)
It was all ok though cause I beat him and placed 1st and he placed 2nd in the draft tourney. : )

I did two sealed tourneys in one day. Sad thing was that I pulled Ani Ghost and Saesee for my rares BOTH TIMES! Great thing was that combination killed it in both tournaments for 1st place. Saesee with renewable force was monsterous. The first tournament I had one Houjix bodyguard and a Gamorean bodyguard to soak up all Saesee's damage while he Djem So'd the living crap out of everybody. The same happened in the second tournament except I had two rebel soldiers, a healer and the Jedi Instructor. The grenades 30 was clutch and healing Saesee while haunting him worked just as well. Waylander was my greatest challenge and he had the most improbable team there was..., Lord Hoth and Freedon Nadd!!! Yeah right! Like those two would ever fight together. Actually, I take that back. His friend Nick had a squad with Plo and Kit that came down to just Saesee and Plo getting opportunist off me. The last play came down to Plo hitting me for 30 damage to take me down to 40 HP He had 50 left and I Djem So Mastery'd him, critted on the atack back and dropped him by doing 50 damage!!! Crazy and unbelievable.

I came in first with a double Opportunist combo of Lando and Plo Koon. I padded out my squad with a total of 9 activations in order to get most out of Opportunist. I also included a Jedi Healer and a Gammorean Bodyguard to negate as much damage as possible. Made a conscious decision to not include any Dejarik units and played on Ravaged Base all four games. Also used the Rodian Diplomat more than once to block out enemy Dejariks from getting into the action.
