Now that the game is over offcially from Wotc, I was wondering if anyone has talked to Rob about the game since his departure from Wotc? I am sure he has some sort of NDA but who knows. I would be interested to hear what he and Sara have to say about the game here in the end. Mostly I mean his planned direction for the game if it had continued beyond MOTF, and what if any characters he had on the drawing board for future sets, and which if any charcters kept bouncing around from set to set, without ever finding a home and getting released. Granted Peter Lee did the final two sets, but I am willing to bet the writing was on the wall when Rob departed, and he knew the end was in sight.
I don't believe for a second that this decision hadn't been decided long ago, though perhaps not finalized till here recently.
Anyway, any input?

If they could somehow, someway get Rob to help with the V-sets......WOW. That would just be incredible...but yeah, I wouldn't mind just having a little input as to his direction and ideas before he left either.

Thanks to Rob for making pieces for so long, but the game has moved on and I'm excited for the non-Rob blood.

If Rob wanted to participate in the V -card project I am sure he would more than hold his own in the creative department. He has designed over 700 minis with only one that put the game into turmoil. I will be very impressed if the V-Card team has anywhere near the success Rob did in this regard.

I doubt he would consider continuing on with SWM, but it would be interesting. I wonder what he is doing now a days? I still want to know who leaked Altis all his information about the Dark Times.

Your definition of "One" and "turmoil" are a bit too loose to be totally accurate to the situation, IMO.

I have no word on Rob, but I did read that Sarah is working for "Mike's Hard Lemonade".

Rob's record is still pretty impressive. I only recall there being 2 note worthy pieces with GMA, Twin and Double that could be considered OP, and one openly broken tank with about 12/15 figures that are broken enough to base entire squads around at a rough stab. Picking on an designer for a couple select flaws is a tad unfair. As a individal he is bound to have favouratisums towards select abilities as most people do.
Of course, the new guy they had hired did it pretty well for the short time he was aboard, so I would not mind hearing from him, though chances are he will be put to work on another project, hence thats probably is not an option.
Though I definately would not mind seeing new stuff and I enjoyed that, it would be worth while to have his insight for a reference point if nothing else. Though it may be something to bring up on Gamers rather then here.
Edit: Mikes hard lemonade? O_o; I am assuming that is not what I think it is? (Ish UK and not famlier with brands. lolz)

Mike's Hard Lemonade is an adult beverage. Interesting if Sarah really does works there now.

Rob stayed in the Seattle area and still games at the local venues near the WotC offices that many WotC employees play. Players in the area still run into him from time to time.
Sarah is indeed selling sugar alchohol now.

I don't think Motti's comment about GMA/Twin is in regards to broken or overpowered pieces. If you've been in the game for a few years, you can see an obvious trend toward more bland and boring character designs up until the GAW set. It's not about broken pieces. It's about lack of creativity. It feels like Rob sort of got in a rut or designing figs the same way all the time. Things like the GAW Kit Fisto. Not necessarily broken stuff, but things that don't play that well, and just aren't creative and tend to feel like someone just threw a bunch of abilities together on a card without a whole lot of creative thought behind it.
Don't get me wrong, Rob did an excellent job, and even the GOWK debacle can't be laid entirely on his shoulders, I'm sure. But new blood is also good in a project that is 5 years old at this point, if nothing else but to shake things up a bit, and add some new creativity to the mix.

Aye, of course, of course. Just I do genunaly not believe that the fact some unit blandness does not mean we should not at least seek his opinon. I just thought it was rather disrespectful to just dismiss him like that to be truthful. That was why I offered the counter arguement.

Who said anything about dismissing him?? If he ever came forward and wanted to continue helping with stuff (if he was even allowed to do so, which I would guess his contract from WOTC doesn't allow), then the guys at SWMGamers would ABSOLUTELY want his involvement if possible. But, even though he has a screenname on Gamers, he never uses it. So, how are we supposed to include him if he's not a part of the community already anyways? Frankly, we don't NEED to go hunt him down and ask him to be involved. We have plenty of people who are more than capable of putting together stats, doing the Vsets, etc. But if he step forward and wanted to help, I'm sure we would all be more than happy to include him.
