So I'm reading book 2 in the NJO series. Corran Horn just found out he is being sent on a mission with Ganner Rhysode. Ganner comes over and is a massive douche! This is the first time I have come across him in the books or anywhere.
Just wondering if he remains a douche, or gets better over time? I'm just not understanding all the Ganner love out there is all. Well obv his mini is cool, but before stats were known loads of people were wanting a Ganner. Does he become less of a douche?

Yes, he does mellow out a bit later on. You'll see why people like him when you get to Traitor.

I don't want to ruin it, so I think it will suffice to say that he gets a great Crowning Moment of Awesome later on in the series.
And yes, he does become a bit less of a douche.

So jealous, i'd love to be reading them for the first time again! loved this series, it never go the love it deserved. People dis it, but please...if our gona dis it read crystal star first

Yea, Ganner grows. I actually liked the NJO series so much that I had to stop and go back and read the books in X-wing series to learn about Corran Horn . I wanted to know what he was like before being a Jedi. Now I've I will be starting back where I left off.

I am just starting the X-Wing books. I never wanted to read them before because I thought a series about a bunch of dogfights would get boring, but they are actually quite good.
Has anyone ever read I, Jedi? That's a book all about Corran Horn and his early jedi days. It's a great book.
As for Ganner, he was always cocky and kind of a jerk, but he gets better and the aformentioned AWESOMENESS is AWESOME!!!!!!

Ganner has a better character arc than Jacen, IMO.

Jacan was not orignally intended to be the Sith lord in the first place, he was intended to be the expendable one that dies and puts his sister on the dark path. Just Lucas directly told the writer that Aninakin solo could not be the chosen one as it may confuse new readers or something.
Hence Ani being cut off after all the hype and Jacan taking the fall. Orignally it was meant to be him taking the fall and his sister being corrupted.

Yes, I must admit that Ganner certainly has QUICK REACTIONS. In the books his proficiency in STEALTH is only overshadowed by his mastery of LEVITATION (1). However, the Vong certainly couldn't withstand his devastating LIGHTSABER SWEEP. If only he wasn't such a LONER, perhaps he could have withstood the onslaught of 100 Vong. Apparently only 19 were able to mount a serious DEFENSE, 9 vong turned back against Ganner's ATTACK, and 20 took some serious DAMAGE. If only he didn't (force) PUSH away those who were trying to connect with him on a personal level.
That's just Ganner for you. It's what makes him so UNIQUE.

Lol "how much time do you spend thinking about me then?" Corran Horn is the don. My worst mistake was picking up the last Legacy book to see the blurb which gave away what happened to Mara. I was just stressed for the first 6 books, waiting for it to happen! Also I Jedi was one of my favourites as well.
