This is just something I felt should be said to all those doing trading here on BlooMilk, and over at Gamers and Wizards. I'm in the middle of what I believe to be a bad trade where the other guy is scamming me, so all that I have to say stems from that, and I felt the need to get this off my chest:

Please think twice before scamming anyone. Some people, like me, are really new to the game, and that would be a very indecent thing to do. As a potential scammer, are you really that hard-pressed for cheap, plastic miniatures that you have to violate the trust of others to save yourself a couple bucks? That's unfortunate. I know that, if you plan on scamming someone, you probably don't care, but you have the potential to tarnish someone's love for this game. Shame on you for spitting in the face of this game, that so many people have good experiences with, and for some, helps families spend time together, and learn to love each other more.

For a community full of such nice people, who help each other out at every possible opportunity, I can't understand what would possess someone to take advantage of another member of this community in such a way. Now, whether or not you believe in Karma, I believe that, ultimately, scammers will get their just desserts. It might not have anything to do with Star Wars Miniatures, but they'll come to regret the choice to turn their back on this community.

I will doggedly endeavor to make sure that nobody else makes the mistake of trading with the scammer that has burned me, and I hope everyone would do the same. That's a shame, since I know this guy has completed several legitimate trades in the past. I want to make sure that his actions don't harm the community any more than they already have. Who knows? If someone gets scammed, in the future, that might lead to them leaving the game, and we'll all suffer for that.

Star Wars Miniatures, moving forward now that we will no longer have sets coming out, and thus will have limited means of recruiting new players, will rely on the integrity of the community and the helpfulness of its patrons. Scammers compromise that integrity, and for that, I'm truly sorry. I sincerely hope that you will see it in your heart, if you are scamming someone, or thinking of scamming someone, to never exploit someone else in the SWM community again. At least have that much decency.

I started a trade back in January with someone that had a good GTL score and was well known, still haven't gotten my pieces. Received excuse after excuse and delay after delay, it's pretty frustrating and I lost whatever respect I had for the online persona.

Scammers are no fun. Just remember to post them on the BTL.

Also, to reiterate a #1 rule in trading: always check the BTL/GTL BEFORE ever offering or accepting a trade. It might save you a heartache. BlooMilk

He's right. This actually saved me a bad trade recently. Even though I traded with him before he just stopped communicating with me entirely and he got posted to the BTL.

Just do all of us a favor and post any bad trades on the BTL so we know who to avoid.

Oh don't worry, he'll definitely be going on the BTL. I'm just giving him a fw more days so that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, I know he's not sending it.

I'm sorry to hear about your issues. That's too bad. If there is any other help the community can offer to help just ask. We'll see what we can do.
