You guys know how competitive certain squad types can be. I've noticed some squads are so competitive that people ignore their other squads, and because some factions are more casual than competitive, entire factions are ignored. I think people should play each faction, even the unperferred ones every once in a while so you can get a feel of how they play, and using different play styles can improve your stratagey.

I think this one is going to be a landslide. There was a time when I would have voted Imperial, but then the Rebels blew up their DEATH STAR. Twice. I'd love to see a OR or YV faction pure requirement at an event.

Vong. Definitely. Oh, wait... overused! Well, I only have Rebel and Empire...

Republic for sure. I have all the good pieces for squad building, but hate running them only becuase it's not much fun playing a mirror team.

I picked Rebel. I think they are the best and I practically use them almost all of the time.

I feel spoiled that my play group rarely runs Rebs, lol.

I picked fringe. You'd think that ugnaughts are more common in the universe than Duros or Humans! (according to the RPG books, those are the 2 most common races) Seriously though, if you don't like that any 1 faction (or 3 factions) is (are) used too often, it is very fun to roll a d10 and let that decide your faction. (in vassal, you can even just click on the randomizer button )

Fringe is by far the most overused Faction, can't go far without seeing multiple fringe pieces in a squad. XD I ticked that simply because it is true, Fringe are pretty much everywhere, often on both sides of the same war.
Personally, I would go with Republic or Rebels, simply becasue they have one of the greatest melting pots of abilitys between them. One has multiple commander effects, a few study walls and Yobuck, not to mention the number of Republic figures in each set being fairly high in compersion to every other faction of late. (Not only did they get half a set to themselves, but they have also consistantly netted a between 5/7 figures in slots that have not been their own, from Knights of the old Republic to Dark Times, only exception being the purest Imperial entanglements.)
Rebels meanwhile have cheap, but solid figures with Raakin, and if something their flexable figure pool does not suit their needs, then undoubtably they can draw on Fringe to flesh out the army.
Imperial and Seps dispite being major factions are less used because they tend to be stuck to a trend more then the formentioned two. Often their uniques are simply not as diverice as the Rebels or Republic. Though no less effective, Vader with Thawn is still terrifying and Droids are definately solid in seps, though the pressence of the underpriced IG-86 indicates that Fringe is still the most commonly used faction.

I don't have General Rieekan so rarely play rebels. I got creamed by a Rieekan/Dodonna squad with lots of opportunist shooters the other day, so this has increased my dislike of Rebels. When I get hold of Rieekan, obviously I will love them, lol.
But I still think Rebels are played the most. My favourite faction is Imperials though. But I can probably field the most Republic squads.

Republic. Republic. Republic.
I use them too, but I try to use a different faction every time I play until I cycle through all of them. Unless I forget where I am, in which case I will play Mandos.

Rebels....by a long shot. A Rebel squad has won GenCon two years in a row if I'm not mistaken. I think WotC wanted it that way. Too many cheap support peices with uber great CEs. I like running reb squads, hate playing against them.

Rebels are pretty cheap, and they only thing they don't have is Swapping. Their only weakness' are enemy disruptive, enemy swapping, other Rebel Teams, and the Rebel's low health

Imperials and Republic just have so many options. Some might say they are over used, but you could build endless amounts of squads (from either faction) that don't resemble each other at all.

I'm sick of all the Thrawn/Cad Bane swap squads.

Just from what I've seen online (Not too many folks play in my area) there seem to be alot of Republic squads being used. Particularly with Rex.

Yeah, Rex just fits well into so many squads. At his cost, it's hard to pass him over for some other shooter.

Odd, but many players in our league don't play Rebels. Odd, but I've played them the last two weeks. Odd, and neither time was a top-tier squad; both were fun teams trying out the new figures. (This week features Han in Carbonite with General Solo.)
I voted Republic because we see a lot of that. They've been more heavily featured in recent sets that current players have purchased. They feature some of the strongest combinations and/or figures. The players know those characters more.

Rebel a lot of people think evade and dod is the greatest thing in the world. I think the republic are played alot but they are all most 2 factions.
Side note Tim I was going to play this last night but I got held up at work Dass,Jax,Ferus,Anakin Stap,Yuleran,Twielk BG,uggiex2,Rodian Brutex2,r2,Czerka

I got pretty badly owned by a squad with Yularen, Anistap and Dass in it. It is quite a good combination.
