So - I was doing a little messing with numbers today. I felt like I can finally figure out some numbers and call them FINAL, at least as far as what Wizards of the Coast did.

My calculating was based on reprints. Everyone talks about being part of the (what will be) 915 club (the final number).

Personally I reject that number.

I reject Rebels and Imperials for the total - it had 100% duplicates (same pose, same stats, same round base)

I reject the exact duplicates in Battle on Endor, Battle on Hoth, Clone Wars Battles, the '07 starter set, the Clone Wars starter set, and all 3 map packs for the total. (Same pose, same stats, same round base).

All that being factored in - Uniquely posed minis number: 862

That doesn't even count the 3 minis with the same pose, same stats but a round base from Battle on Hoth. (updated from the square A&E base). So now that number is 859.

Now I wanted to dig a little deeper. I personally reject reposed figures (same stats) as being "new". To me - it's all about the stats.

Well there are 71 figures reprinted a total of 125 times. 69 of the 125 were reposed. So if you are like me and you reject any mini as part of that number unless it has an original set of stats, then the ACTUAL FINAL number for "the club" will be 790.

After all - if we just counted every mini - I would be a part of the 2930 club - which is silly.

So where do we draw the line on what to count and what not to? Why not count promo repaints if you count a separate release of the exact same mini?

Why not count the non-uniques from the starter sets of Rebel Storm, Clone Strike and Revenge of the Sith? They were released in both the starter set and in boosters - 2 different releases. No different from a battle droid from Clone Strike and from the Crystal Caves of Illum map pack. It's the same exact figure! (Same pose, same stats, same round base).

Well the answer is we should not count them.

The 790 club. Forever.

:D

I put down Never will because I got all the unique characters and figures that I wanted that were made. My collection surpasses 3000 if that counts for anything. It still grows as I reinforce my armies for the coming battle of Glimrus.

Well I have the 790, I have all of R&I, and I have a handful of the promo pieces, if not for the vast array of promo pieces, the chaseness of them and their cost, I would have them all.

So I put myself under the Yes and then some.

Timmer I had to pick no and never will be.

I own all the minis except a quite a few promos and R&I set so this sets me well above just in owner ship case.

But I'm not on your same page for counting the actual number of minis produced either for my personal belief. With all the different Vaders i still count that as one figure just re-released under a different sculpt and stat and don't count them in the total count as separate minis. Like wise for Luke, Leia, Yoda etc.

So I would expect that 790 number to drop significantly because of that. Right now I don't have the time to go and count but I would expect that number to fall by over 100 easily.

Difference is, most of those Vaders, Lukes, Hans have functional differences, so they are not the same figure in use, or name. Unlike Clone Troopers, or Battle Droid reprints, who are functionally and share the exact same name.

I think what he is refering to is the reprints, which means everything is effectively identical. Except the scupt in none unique reprints.

Yes, I have one of each unique stats. I like using this 790 number as a cutoff point to be complete for a gamer. I am more of a collector, so I lean a bit more toward the one of every sculpt to be complete (promos and re-issues don't count) and am complete there, too. Just missing a couple R&I which I may never get (not trying too hard, but will be fine if it happens) of all the pieces sold through retail. I have most of the repainted promos which are just fun. So I guess I fall off the board for choices, :)

I now have all the minis made save for the promos. Right now I'm concentrating on building massive armies with commons and uncommons.

891 for me. I'm ignoring Rebs & Imps. I could ignore the 2007 starter as it is also straight reprints, but I do have it... Endor, Hoth, CW Starter, CWB all have at least one character or sculpt not available in another set, so I count them.

Some of the promo repaints are cool, and I have a number of them but won't attempt to get them all, just the ones that appeal to me the most.

I'm also doing some army building, at least until all my trade bait is gone, then I guess I'll go into trading/buying retirement for good, except for new maps.

I've got something in the upper 200s, and don't really aspire to collect them all since I just got into the game. I don't run Rebels, Imperials, Mandalorians, Vong, or Old Republic, so I'm not really going to focus on any of those factions as I continue to try and acquire pieces going into the future.

Everything but R @ I. I never set out to do it. In fact I went out of my to trade my Vader IC and Rebel Storm Obi when I got the extras from the starter pack. Same with the doubles from the Hoth Pack. Then over the years I got closer and closer and then I was like fine. I might as well and then I had to get the others pieces again. lol Now that I have them all and no boosters to buy only thing left is army building. Which is hard to get excited about. Right now I am focusing on Hoth. Well I am up to 3 AT-ATs now anyway.BigGrin I am so bored I actually started collecting Halo Clix minis now...sighBored

I have 290/915, and I'm not going to bother finding the number out of 790. The point is, I'll never get there.

Yep I understood exactly what timmer meant before I posted.

To me it isn't so much about what functions or differences they bring, its about a piece being rehashed. To have a vader, luke or anakin every set is just redundant and in my book it shall be uncountable for the final total number of minis.

I rather had the 100+ slots those took up made use of 100+ characters that never been made. But with that said i understand the need to make the updated pieces to keep them somewhat competitive since really seeing a game without one of those is weird.

Dont ever think I will get them all for Phoebe, although personally I like getting resculpts of certain figures, especially main characters, like Han, Luke, Leia, Vader, Palps, Boba, also building huge droid, clone, stormie armies!

The only Unique, non-huge characters that I do not own at least one of the unique are:

Darth Revan
Carth Onasi
Darth Sion
Calo Nord
Dannik Jerriko
Baron Fel

I also traded away almost all of my huge characters, and don't own a few of the non-unique Rares and Very Rares.

Funny story. I just looked up my inventory in SWMManager, and apparently I have 790 of 915 minis.

So I guess I am part of the 790 club after all, but not in the way that you are thinking.

The moral of my story is this: Even though I could totally end up buying Revan/Carth/Stormtrooper on Sled/Gungan on Kaadu/etcetera, I will probably never complete the 790 of uniques, given that I have already gone though my collection and sold a great number of uniques that I just never used (Luke, Jedi Knight; Luke, Jedi Master; Anakin (CS); Quinlan Vos (CS); etcetera) I will never regret selling those not as good very rares, because it paid for almost my entire collection of KotOR minis.

I don't even nearly own all of them. But I intend to at some point, and then will sell off the less good ones that I never play with.
