Ok guys it's the end of May. Has anyone heard any news of anyone buying the game or if this is it?
Also, does anyone know if boosters will drop in price if it's over?

I would expect an announcement, if one is coming, to happen either at Gencon or CV.
As for passing on the savings for boosters, it is up to the individual retailer.

I checked two local Targets over the weekend, one still has $14.95 for a booster and the other doesn't carry them anymore.
No word yet on someone buying the rights. Well, that I've seen anyway.

Right now, singles are going down in price while sealed boosters are getting rarer. MiniatureMarket has upped its booster price from $9.75 to $11.00 and some cases from $109 to $119.

Now the rumor is that WOTC has until the end of Aug not May to sell off all their stock. So we will have to wait until after Gen-con for big savings I'm thinking.

I have heard rumors of a company being interested in picking up the game. I honestly have my doubts about that company though.

I can tell you what I know.
Lucas has confirmed that another company has picked up the license but of course they are not saying who.
Wizards will effectively be done with the game May 31st so dont be surprised if there is no more Star Wars forums on wizards. Wizards has until August to get rid of their inventory of Star Wars products but look for it to be gone sooner than that.

I was very disappointed when the game got canceled when we had some great new source material coming out. I am hoping for minis from the new old republic game and the clone wars keeps introducing new characters that I'd like to have miniatures of.

no it means someone has the rights.
It doesnt mean a game will ever be produced.
some gaming company's have bought license materials just to keep other from getting them.

So 3 options: 1. The Heroclix scenario (revival of the game mechanics) 2. The SWCCG/SWTCG scenario (completely new game with the license)
3. Or the Godzilla TCG scenario (buy rights, plan game, never comes to fruition)

Wizards owns the D20 system, I've heard
So the new compnay would have to make a new system or pay wizards for the old
Only reason Heroclix could use the original system is that, well, the compnay ceased to exist
Speaking of that, what ever hapenned to the Pocketmodel game?
Did anyone ever renew that?

Also, with regards to booster packs
My dad says he thinks - and he knows his stuff, being in business for 2 decades - that they'd liquidate any remaining stock to stores like TJMaxx and Big Lots
Speaking of that, my local TJMaxx had the entertainment earth exlcusive Joker Squad battle pack for $14...not sure if anyone else here collects figures... O_O
