Well, if you read through the tournament reports from the Regionals so far, that should tell you quite a bit.

Great to see you're back on here. The five playable factions right now are: Rebel, Republic, NR, Imperial, and Seps. For Republic right now it's mainly Yobuck Swap squads. For NR it's Ganner Levitation squads with either Kyle, or Mara Jade Jedi. For the Rebels it's the ever-so powerful Snowspeeder, the Landspeeder as also made a few appearances. Seps got the Lancer, also like Weeks said a Nute Gunray squad as won a regionals. And for the Imps its mostly Thrawn Oppro Swap squads. I could be wrong with some of this. This is just what I've seen/heard.

Nute never won a regional. It got 2nd,5th and a top 10 finish. The top squads have movement and ways to deal with some of the top minis. To be honest Squads only do so well because of the match ups.

Lol I noticed it too. Maybe I should apply to detective school and apply my accute skills of observation. On topic, well, the five ones listed are spot on. Not much more to be said without going too much into detail. Definitely recommend the regional reports, have been reading them with much interest.

There's a sweet Tusken Raider/Peace Brigade squad that is gaining notoriety. Also, the ever popular Admiral Ackbar/Ponda Baba swap squad that is unrivaled.

It's about the uber Gonk Droid/Ewok Warrior combination! When you go in with the Hang Glider for a strafe, the opponent is just terrified! With Captain Typho backing them up, they're invincible!

Well, there have been some pretty big changes that are having a big effect. 1. Restricted Map list is BIG. It really changes things up, and really helps Melee. 2. Soresu Style Mastery change for DCI only which makes it work only against non-melee attacks, and brings General Obi-wan Kenobi back into play.
Things are extremely different than last year. NR Levitation squads, Yobuck squads, and the traditional Rebel squads have all been doing good. Lancers are still a threat. So while it may not seem different on paper, in reality, it is much, much better than last year.
