They have totally different uses, it seems strange to try to compare which is "better".

Went with Plo here in a toss up. On the plus side, he's 6 points cheaper for the same base stats, has 1 more FP, has Opportunist, Force Alter, and a semi-useful CE. But its too easy to argue that Tiin is better because he is an uber beatstick follower with a movement breaker, who benefits from just about everything. A third category could've been "flip a coin."

I played Saesee yesterday pretty badly. But I still like him. But Plo Coon is also pretty good when put in a trooper heavy squad. Decision decisions.

Plo Koon, I don't see while people like Tinn at all, let alone more than Plo (however I admit he isn't super awesome). Tinn has one less FP(his main problem), cost 6pts more, and DOESN"T HAVE OPPORTUNIST. I have crushed my opponents with Plo Koon, but Tinn has always let me down. IMO jedi w/ a way to boost damage are awesome, and Plo has two of the best, opportunist and LS precision.

Well they have 2 totally differant jobs so the comparison is tough. Saesee is a melee brick wall, While Plo is better used as a tie-up/drawfire piece.

I recently won a regional running Plo and basicly only using him for the tie-up/draw fire function. Tow Plo up to something and make them take 40 if they want to get to your other guys(my other dude was rex). Its a great tactic to tie down Ganner Rhysode, tow up put 60 on him with opp then he is basicly stuck and has to fight Plo.

When ive used Saesee it was against the new vader, i think saesee is great in GOWK squads as your melee fighter his Suprise Move ability and mettle for his djem so's he will be able to dish out a good ammount of damage. I do find it hard to pass up Shaak-Ti Jedi Master for only 1 point more, but saesee can be fun and has his uses.

Agree - accept for the Shaak Ti comparison which I deleted :) The difference in the current meta is the ability to one shot the lancer with Saesee that Shaak Ti doesn't have (unless your opponent was dumb enough to strafe her by pawning first granting her cunning attack - in which case, you'd have won anyway :)). The added damage on the djem so's together with mettle is tremendous. Both are good minis, but in a GOWK squad I'd choose Saesee over Shaak in most cases.

As for Plo and Saesee, as you said, totally different figures, with totally different uses. Not much point in comparing if you ask me.

you gotta remember guys, even though you all are saying that "sassee is a melee beast", which is somewhat true, he can only deal 40 per turn. even though he has Djem Mastery, you still gotta keep in the fact that it's SAVE 11. meaning, if he fails, then it will be a moot point. if he mettle's it sure then it has a better chance of succeednig, but also keep in mind he has only 3 force points, which IM(H)O is really really really...weak. 3 force points for a guy with mettle and 2 very-usuable force powers isn't something i really like...he can use mettle 3 times, block 3 times, or suprise 3 times...during the whole game. and im sure he'll be using block and surprise mjuch more than mettle. :) plus he costs 6 points more.

plo on the other hand for the same base stats cost 6 less, has opportunist (one of the best effects to put on beatsticks in the game), and 1 more force point to spend on block/precision...and a nice CE to use for some troopers you might want to use.

i know this sounds a bit "lopsided", but this is just my opinion...in short, i believe plo is much better than sassee ThumbsUp

I love Koon's CE. Teamed with Mothma , Mas, some Alderan Troopers, Maybe some heavy Clone Troopers. I love that. Watch out for disruptive squads though!

That said, Mettle also makes it more reliable. If you seriously do not factor Saesee's DSM into his damage output vs melee, you are selling him extremely short. Even without a reroll, he should be averaging an extra attack at 30 Dam against your average Double (or Twin) attacker. Plo is better by himself. But as must ALWAYS be stated in these type of threads, this is a squad game. Using GOWK, you are taking Saesee over Plo. Certain you are going to face a heavy Melee army, I would take Saesee.

And there are other nice things about him. You can easily plan how much damage he will take, as he won't take Crit damage.

mm! i forgot about that! :) yea, he'd work well against those guys who always roll lucky crits...
