I always get a kick out of running a Tarpals/Artillerist squad and things got even better w/ the sweet CE from Boss Nass! Cesta Like a Boss 35 Boss Nass 27 Lobot 19 Capt. Tarpals 17 Jar Jar 16 Gungan Shieldbearer 16 Queen Amidala 54 Gungan Artillerist x6 9 R2 Astromech 4 Rodian Diplomat 3 Uggie Demo For the Boss Nass Reinforcements I would probably just bring 2 more Artillerists but I could choose to add one of the new Elite Atlatl Bodyguard Gungans or a second Shieldbearer. Just depends. With Tarpals in the squad I would probably bring Evazan frequently but if I need something else I have plenty of options. The Artillerists get to use Cesta twice plus the mobile from Amidala so they will be tucked away most of the time. I would use the Shieldbearer w/ Jar Jar to help keep him alive longer and dissuade attacks. The plan would be to give Jar Jar the Bombad General and have him pick out an enemy at the beginning of the round and let the Artillerists go to work on him/her if they dare stick their neck out. Should be fun! Except for Disruptive. Disruptive bad.

a friend of mine used to run Gungans back in the day. It taught me to be very, VERY Afraid of them. I really like this squad.

Looks like a fun squad. Who doesn't like using double cestas?

Don't forget to keep Watto in your reinforcement pool. With that many cestas, Loaded Chance Cube could mean the death of some squads.

Such a smart idea! captaingig wrote:I love fun squads. Don't be fooled, it's not only a fun squad. This is actually a VERY dangerous and competitive squad. A very similar squad took second place at one of the largest (and arguably most competitive ever) regional a few years back. And that was before Boss Nass!

yeah, but gungans have traditionally done well when they have something a little bit more than cestas.
Whether its towing rex or yobuck, the gungans need some diversity to improve their chances, even if its just to clear fodder out of the way. Boss Nass effects that a it but i think your still better off adding in an additional threat.

Just thought I would bump this and update with the squad I ran in Chicago:
--Cesta like a Boss-- 35 Boss Nass 31 Morrigan Corde 27 Lobot 20 Captain Tarpals 16 Queen Amidala 54 Gungan Artillerist x6 9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid 9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3
Preferred Reinforcements: (Boss Nass) 18 Gungan Artillerist x2 (Lobot) 16 Dr. Evazan, Galactic Criminal (Lobot) 4 Gran Raider
(200pts. 19 activations)
Taking Deri's advice I added in a shooter (Morrigan Corde). I typically brought in the 2 additional Artillerists but brought in the Gungan Elite Infantry w/ Atlatyl 30 in one match. I also typically brought Evazan Galactic Criminal for the double Homicidal Surgery doing an auto 60 damage.
Fun stuff.
