Can a character with melee attack have deadeye?

E.G. Could Lord Vader get double and deadeye from Moff Gideon?

I'm not the best with the rules of SWM but I think he can in the card description it only said no bonus to damage on attacks of opportunity. Nothing about melee attack

Wait I think chain of command would affect this so I don't think Vader can gain his commander affect in the first place

I'm pretty sure that Chain of Command is where they aren't subject to commander effects of lower cost commanders.

E.G. If you had Wilhuff Tarkin and Moff Gideon in the same squad followers would get Gideons commander effect but not Tarkins.

...I think

No, Chain of Command means that for instance, a 51pt Imperial Sentinel cannot benefit from 11pt Captain Needa (and so on and so forth). Cheap commanders become irrelevant, as the commander has to be more expensive than the reciever for the reciever to benefit from the Commander Effect.

Deadeye - Glossary Text

On its turn, if this character doesn't move any distance, it gets a +10 bonus to Damage. This special ability doesn't help with attacks of opportunity.

I think it is safe to say you get Deadeye on melee
