Balance Committee Suggestions for the 2025 Season
Here's your Balance Committee Suggestions thread for the 2025 tournament season. In this thread, we will compile a comprehensive list of potential discussion topics for the upcoming season. To contribute, create a single post for each topic you'd like the Balance Committee (BC) to discuss. Feel free to include a brief paragraph summarizing the topic and provide links to related discussion threads if applicable.
PLEASE create your own thread if you want to discuss proposed topics or the role of the Balance Committee. This thread is not for debate or discussion. For engaging in conversations, please refer to existing threads or start your own. We want to make sure that player requests don’t get lost in the midst of heated discussions.
The inclusion of a topic on our list doesn't guarantee it will be discussed fully by the BC. The final list will be determined by reading many threads, conducting polls, and engaging with the community.
The official deadline for submissions is November 30th, 2024.

Errata Tulak Horde to not have Melee Duelist. 25 defense against Jedi with Cognus, effectively gives him a 29 defense against their attacks when they are within 6 squares of Doctrine of fear. His SSM already makes it hard enough to get damage through if you so happen to even land a hit, plus he can just teleport away in case he does get hit. He ends up with way too many force points with the Dark Force Nexus. So to make it so he has to spend force points more often on rerolls or teleport, he needs to be easier to hit than he is right now if an opponent is running a melee squad. And because of Distraction, opponents also don't get CE's that would normally give an attack boost also unless they have a way to negate abilities that shut off CE's. Please consider dropping Melee Duelist at the very least. He's way too tanky and a NPE at his cost and how much hp he has with that kit

At this juncture, I think most everything is in balance at the moment.
There were no squads that went on crazy winning sprees, or any pieces that came out of no where to clown-stomp the competition.
The meta was very diverse in all the championships (Gencon, Vassalcon, NZ champs) with many different squads and options available.
First time in a while that I can say that I think most everything is fine.

I still want to see the NS Hunters lose Plasma Bolt. They are still plenty good for 23pts in a Nightsister squad even without Plasma Bolt, and needing 15s to evade 40dmg shots from a non-unique...that's just ugly. They're still a big NPE, even though they haven't been used so often recently.

So that way they wouldn't get the plasma bolt -4 on the cannon shot with twin attack.
