Welcome everyone to round 2 of the Spring of 2025 tournament of Galactic Escalation! We had so many good games last round and some very inventive squad builds!

Just so people are aware, I've been using the Oxford Croquet Round Robin Generator (free to use and works well) to generate the pairings for the whole tournament. I've used this pairing website ever since I started Galactic Escalation tournaments. I'd like to detail all that goes into making the schedule so that people can see the process used. I assign numbers to each player in each division prior to generating the schedule, and then randomize the numbers 1-6 using a website to jumble the numbers together randomly, then I take those numbers (and replace them with corresponding player name assigned) and order them in the list of players for the Round Robin Generator. Then the Oxford Croquet Round Robin Generator will generate the matchups for all the rounds and there ya go! Schedule made for a single division. Repeat the process for the second divison and then all the matchups are set for round 1-4 of the tournament. I personally don't look ahead of the current round that we are on to gain any sort of advantage based on the matchup that I'm in. I instead will adjust my escalation squad based on what opponents are left and what i can do to better counter what others have played regardless of when I might face them. Usually I have my squad list planned out for the tournament but leave room for adjustments if needed.

I feel that transparency on how a tournament is organized is important for instilling confidence in any format. Anyways, here is the squads for round 2. I'll update the start and end date once I get all the squads/maps/links for peoples squads:

Jason sets up right and I set up left.

Round 1 we both get gambit and I move Juno and the apprentice up. I use Lightning on Revan who takes 10 after Bubble. R2 Locks the door

Round 2 He wins init, I go first move the uggie. He moves Luke and Holocron, I move Juno up to the door and move Jan up. He activates Revan. R2 opens the door and Luke lobs the apprentice adjacent to Revan who double twins and gets 90 through. Kyle zaps Revan and puts 30 on Revan, Luke, and sorry Juno but I had to do it.

Round 3 I win init the apprentice finishes off Revan and Luke.

It was an uphill climb for him as I had the override and a significant advantage in activations. I think on his map it becomes a little more tricky for me as he has more ways that he can approach. Still a pleasure to play Jason. Good luck the rest of the way.
