So, after a discussion on [Charging Fire] I began to think about (Lightsaber Assault) and despite it also saying "Make 2 Attacks" every character has Melee associated with it except for 1, Mara Jade Jedi.

So the question is, does Lightsaber Assault allow her to pew pew twice with twin fire for a total of 4 shots?

the attacks have to be against an adjacent target when you use Lightsaber Assault. With Lightsaber +10, the attacks would also count as melee attacks. it used to be that they would count as blaster shots, but the Balance committee ruled that the attacks would need to count as melee now.

So to sum up, despite the wording being the same between Charging Fire and Lightsaber Assault, while Charging Fire can be used for Melee attacks, Lightsaber Assault can only be Melee (which makes sense, but of course the "Make 2 attacks" phrasing.

Also what source is used for the balance committee? I have all of WotC Rules, FAQs, and Glossary.

In short, yes: because Mara has Twin Attack, she would make a total of four attacks (against adjacent enemies only) when using her Lightsaber Assault force power.

As for the added rule that those attacks would count as melee attacks (because of the Balance Committee ruling), we should clarify that this is an addition to the original ruleset made by WotC, long ago. This rule only applies to tournaments that are using the current SWM floor rules (that is pretty much any tournament being run anywhere these days).

As for the Balance Committee's "source"...that would be their knowledge and expertise with the game after many years of play, plus the community's broad support of their work.

So I just found and downloaded the floor rules by WotC, (I'm personally opting out of using the balance committee rules due to not using V-Sets and going purely WotC)

So in this case, not applying the Balance committee rules but adhering to the 2015 WotC Floor Rules. Would this make Mara able to quad shoot off the ability?

No, it wouldn't. If you look at the glossary, that clarifies how the ability works:

Card Text
Force 1, replaces attacks: Make 2 attacks

Glossary Text
(Force; 1 Force point) Instead of making its normal attack or attacks, a character using this Force power makes two attacks against an adjacent enemy (these can target different enemies). A character can move normally on the turn that it uses this Force power.

Appreciate it, you would think charging fire would only work for nonmelee but I suppose because melee is a restriction it is not the case. I do appreciate your time discussing this.
