Spryguy1981 (3) defeats Darth Maim (1) 203-122 on Starport District
Round 1 was positioning. I set up a strafe for the start of round 2.
Round 2 I strafed most of his squad taking out almost all of the fodder. Zannah hit Joak who then used Presumed Dead. Kir Kanos attacked Zannah but she SSM'ed the damage away. I swapped in Lumiya and hit her twice with Lightwhip for 60. I moved my troopers out where they could see most of the area he was advancing in.
Round 3 He killed the Speeder, and gave up an AoO to Lumiya to run Zannah away. I then ran Lumiya away to avoid the big assault from Bane as I needed her services. I dropped 90 on Bandon with the Hand of Judgement guys. Bane killed Taxtro and then I based Bane with Mas and swapped in Kir Kanos who put 60 on Bane.
Round 4 I go first and get 60 more through on Bane leaving him at 10. He then double + twins needing 6s and proceeds to roll a 3, fprr 5, fprr 4, 19, 3, and 3. Leaving Kir at 70. Zannah assaults and puts him down to 10. I swap in Lumiya who kills 20HP Zannah and 10HP Bane. Saberan kills Bandon. Ka'sim bases Joak Quiller to get gambit.
Round 5 Ka'sim kills Joak, and I kill the rest of his fodder to go over 200 with gambit and he goes over 100 with the kill.
This was a fun game, Mel's luck was just awful with his attacks on Bane which really sealed the deal. I probably would've ended up with a 2 or even a loss otherwise. I think I still pull off a 2 with Bane and Zannah at 10 and 20 respectively but I would've needed to be more creative. Good luck the rest of the way!

UrbanShmi over UrbanJedi 216-215 (!!!!!) (3-1) on Great Library
I won map and Jason set up on the left with the large sister in the upper stairs. First round was positioning (he sent most of his people around the lower side), with me getting gambit. In the second and third rounds, I worked on getting my squad to dominate gambit (we ended the second round with his large based sister just in gambit, and 3-4 of my squad in the surrounding area). Talon had tried unsuccessfully to turn the Inquisitor twice, and the she eventually fell to a combination of crushing blows and lightnings. Meanwhile, Vader and Reva had come around the side to challenge Talon and Kell Douro (who was positioned to make maximum use of Manipulate Fate--which drained both him and the Nexus rapidly). The Second Sister also came around to where Nihl and Stryfe were hanging out by the bookshelves. Wyyrlok chained a bunch of lightnings to try to autodamage as much as possible. It was an incredibly bloody fight--in the end, Stryfe was my only remaining piece and had only 10-20 HP. Even though Jason still had Tarkin and a few scrubs left )Reva got blown up by a Pawn), it was not enough to overcome my control of the gambit zone. Absolutely ridiculous game all around!

thereisnotry defeats Mando 223-105 (3-1) on Ravaged Base
I set up on the left and Gnost Dural stole Venku's CE (the only one that was available).
Round 1: Resolnare allowed Mando to get his Mandos into gambit. I didn't get gambit, but I did lock the center door. Bastilla hid in a room at the bottom of the map and never came out.
Round 2: Mando won init and advanced his people further into his gambit room; Mira blasted the door at the bottom of it. I advanced my people to prepare for a big round 3. ABM turned on. T3 let the center door go neutral (closed).
Round 3: Mando won init and chose to go first. He used Resolnare to push his people out into the big hallway. Since the door was still shut, I used Surprise Move with Carth to place him against the door, to prepare for some nastiness after the door opened. Mira moved forward to blast the door and then toss a grenade at Carth and Jace and my Uggie, but I miraculously made all my saves...Mira then retreated with Agile into a safer position. Carth opened up by blasting Kelborn away, then Jace moved up to shoot the Technician and put 30dmg on Mira, then I sacc'ed my XT-6 to move the Senator (adjacent to Din Djarin), who gave another shot to Carth, which killed Mira. Din used Cable Grab and then whistling birds to kill my Uggie, Mouse and Senator, and also do 30dmg to both Carth and Jace. Venku then ran in to do 40dmg to Carth, bringing him to 10hp (no Protective because no Mandos were alive an damaged). Satele used Force Dash to kill Venku. The Saboteur hit Satele for 20dmg. Gnost Dural then used Master Speed to kill the Saboteur. 134-53 for me after gambits.
Round 4: I won init, so my 10hp Carth had one last turn, doing 40dmg to Din before being Counterpushed to death. Din then killed Jace. Miraculously, Kana was able to hit Din for 30dmg (with her wimpy +8 attack). Gnost Dural killed a scrub and gave up and aoo to the Crusader, which resulted in a Splash that wounded him and killed the Crusader; he then moved adjacent to Satele. I positioned my remaining Mouse adjacent to Satele in such a configuration that she could not be Counterpushed away from Din on her turn. T3 came up to flame Din (Din at 60, Kana at 60, Satele at 70) and apply Targetting. Then Satele killed Din with the help of ABM and Targetting.
Nothing happened until the start of Round 3...but then stuff really happened! My door maneuver with Carth, along with the 3-activation phase to follow it, proved to be too much for Mando's Mandos to recover from. When Venku died later that round, it was just about sealed. I'm really enjoying this new Kana Terrid piece...she opens up some really cool new squad options. As always, thanks for the game, Mando. It was good to see Kelborn and crew on the table again.

Lightsaber defeats NoffyD 249-89 (3-0) on Ravaged Base
We played this game in person as we live fairly close to each other and it's just nicer to play in person. NoffyD won map roll, and I set my Commandos on the right side while his Nightsisters set up on the left, inside the base.
Round 1: Both sides advance towards gambit. I used my two new Commandos to Coordinated Movement Boss into the Gambit Zone on my side. No central doors were opened, meaning no shooting happened.
Round 2: NoffyD won initiative, but allowed me to go first. My commandoes hid in that central office while his cloaked Nightsisters cautiously advanced. For NoffyD's last activation, he ran Asajj to open the door to the office, then ran Talia into the office and immediately drank a Potion to become invisible. I suddenly realise that this could be very bad and use Coordinated Movement to form a living shield around Scorch (I have learned that when Scorch dies, everyone else briskly follows suit cough gandalf i'm looking at you cough)Both sides got gambit as Talzin and the Witch were hanging around the elevator.
Round 3: NoffyD once again won, and graciously allowed me to activate first. I closed the door to the office with Fixer, trapping the still-invisible Hunters inside. The Hunters then turned visible. Talia turned around and broke the door before running to the right of the office, allowing Silri to sprint in with the help of a Force Point to take a few whacks at the good General (took 40). Sev runs adjacent to Asajj and blasts her for 30 twice (with the help of Squad Firepower). Boss then activates, blasts Asajj twice to defeat her, and cannons Sev into the adjacent Silri. Sev crits one shot and hits the twin for a total of 80 damage on Silri. Mother Talzin then cannons Silri using Talia's Relay Orders (which I totally forgot about) to hit Sev twice for 30. He unfortunately cannot shield because of Silri's Lightwhip, so kicks the bucket. For NoffyD's second activation he runs a Hunter up. General Obi-Wan then puts Silri out of her misery with two attacks, and Nines moves to shoot Talia in the face once for 30. NoffyD's Sith Witch runs into the office to Distract Nines, and the xt-6 activates next to Talzin. Scorch snipes the Witch twice for 20 each, but one shot turned out to be an Illusion. Then budget Boss (with the help of Coordinated Movement) runs up to Talia and hits her for 20 more. NoffyD's second Nightsister Hunter snipes budget Boss from across the map, and Plasma Bolt causes several shield malfunctions resulting in budget Boss's untimely demise. Both sides get gambit.
Round 4: I won the critical initiative roll, eviscerate the uncloaked Witch with Boss and cannon Niner to deport Talia from this world. NoffyD's hunter shoots Niner for 10damage through the shield, then Talzin cannons the same Hunter to hit for 30 more on Niner, who now has 20hp. R2 the Doombot then flies the good General out into the hallway and closes the door in Talzin, after which Obi shows off his prowess with the lightsaber, putting 40 on the lone Hunter. The other hunter runs to save her kin, but must wait outside the door with Talzin and the Mousie to watch the other Hunter's demise (similarly to that Maul fight scene in Ep 1). They don't have to wait long - Scorch runs behind the General and puts the Hunter out of her misery. Nines crawls over to open the door I accidentally locked Fixer behind (a failed flanking attempt). Both sides get gambit.
Round 5: Once again, I win initiative and graciously allow NoffyD to begin. Talzin Shatters the door and throws lightning at Kenobi and the Doombot. Then the XT-6 makes a noble sacrifice, allowing the Hunter to make a desperate sprint to finish Niner (taking an AoO from Kenobi). She hits for 10 and misses the second, leaving Niner in a 10hp heap on the ground. The XT-6 sacrifice put me on 198 points - one away from victory. The good General and Fixer combine forces to clean up the remaining Hunter, and Scorch takes out the Mouse Droid. The remaining Commandoes then begin blasting through Talzin's Bubbles, eventually ending her through a Boss cannon. Thanks for playing NoffyD, always great to play physical games rather than all this online stuff!

Hi Fives defeats Gandalf 202-63 (3-0) on Starport District
Round 1: I win map, and gandalf picks the left. Mostly positioning this round, and Grievous grabs gambit for gandalf
Round 2: More positioning, and I take out the battle droid and the muun guard.
Round 3: Dooku gets pushed with San Hill's CE and then does some smackin' on Vader. Vader gets two of his djem so saves and drops 40 damage from dooku, meanwhile recieving 90. Vader then finishes the job on Dooku then runs away like an infant girl. Grievous runs up and hits the death trooper for 20. Grievous takes 50 from different shots from my guys, just barely not activating presumed dead, Aura sing takes another 40 off the death trooper.
Round 4: I win init, and send Grievous back to start and then deal 30 to Aura. She then retaliates by killing the trooper and then running for cover. The spy runs up and tries taking out a death star trooper and misses. Gandalf retreats the rest of his guys, and sends san hill into the back building.
Round 5: I win init and let gandalf start. he spends the round regrouping and i take a couple pot shots with my DS troopers. I make a near fatal mistake with vader by putting him by the door on the north side (more on that in a sec...)
Round 6: I start, and do some minor pot shot with someone. Here's where I almost screwed it all up. San hill sends Ventress 12 and then she Master speeds to run all the way around the north hallway to sneak up on Vader from behind. Vader is at 50 hp and Ventress is in the doctrine of fear bubble from tarkin. Ventress attacks needing elevens, and she rolls 7 and 10. After this big scare, I take out Ventress and step away from the door, and at the end of the round, Grievious has taken some damage so he is past half health.
Round 7: Gandalf wins init and takes out a couple smaller guys with Grievous. I kill grievous and Aura has a chance to take out vader. She unfortunately misses, and then we just call it there.
It was a great game where we were both on the ropes for a good portion of the game. that move with Ventress came outta nowhere, and almost had me dead. Vader is a beast, but fortunately for me, the rest of my troops had just enough to pull it through with vader on sabbatical for most of the match. Good game, Gandalf, and good luck on the rest of the tourney! Also thanks Noffy for your input throughout the match!

It was a blast playing in person with you Thomas, saddening thought that this might be the last time (have fun in uni). Also sorry to Jordan for my (mostly incorrect) input on some of the rules. your strategy was flawless and you squad was absolutely brutal. Asides from that hope you have a great time in New Zealand! It would be cool to play a small tourney here but it seems to be too late.
