Special Abilities

  • Unique, Betrayal
  • Dark Master (At the start of the skirmish, choose a Unique allied character. That character may spend this character's Force points as if they were its own.)
  • All As I Have Foreseen (If your opponent wins initiative, all enemy characters get -3 on the result of all rolls for the rest of the round. Once per round, after initiative is determined, a follower within sight of this character can immediately move up to its speed before any other character activates)
  • Turn to the Dark Side (Replaces attacks: range 6; 20 damage to 1 target with a Force rating. The target can choose to negate this damage and instead make a save of 11; if the save fails, the target joins this character's squad until the end of the skirmish.)

Force Powers

Commander Effect

Followers with Hand of the Emperor ignore enemy character's Diplomat and gain Assassin. /br At the end of its turn, if an ally with a Force rating made only one attack this turn, it may make one additional attack

"Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen."

Inspired by Pegolego's new version. This is a new Imperial Palpatine force battery. CE and Rapport help out his "Hands". CE might also help some other pieces. Betrayal and/with Improved Force Alter as his only defense (18 won't protect him, but honestly I don't think his defense at this time should be any higher) Turn to the Dark Side cuz that is precisely what he was trying to do to Luke plus it gives him an attack option other than Force Lightning 5. (which requires he replace his turn and costs a boat load of fp's)

I wanted him to deter the use of Thrawn so I gave him All As I Have Foreseen that punishes the enemy if they win initiative. (any suggestions on how to make it better?) Plus Sense the Future can help you or your opponent win initiative. Any suggestions?

I like this a lot! Not bad for his price, boosts for hands is great!

Offers a lot of control too, strong representation of puppet master palps.

I love this, especially the help for [Emperor's Hand]s. Improved Force Alter is really nice, too. I can't think of anything wrong with this piece. 9.

Wow that's high praise coming from you SignerJ! Thanks guys!

I love what you've done with him. Feels just like Palpatine. The CE helps several pieces on so many different levels. I don't think his cost is too high or low for what he does. The only problem I see is that he has too many big wordy abilities/effects, and they wouldn't fit on any card I think.

If I absolutely had to lose something I guess I would choose Dark Master

Oh, I just realized that this is "Plapatine," not "Palpatine." I stand corrected -- this is a horrible character representation for Plapatine. The stats are all wrong, and the SAs don't make any sense. (I'm just joking around. You might want to fix that name, though.)

This really captures the essence of Palps. How do you get abilities linked in your CEs?

Well I use the correct Spelling of course then surround the text with those brackets that share the same 'key' as the Square brackets (have to push shift to get them, I would put them here but they don't show up) Pegolego taught me :) Thanks Saber!

Combining this guy with Mit'thrawn, Arica, and IE Xizor would be an interesting squad. 60 Damage against every piece that she can see... It is pricey, so it probably won't be overpowered, but it might at least be fun to play.

Might the CE be more concise granting [Indiscriminate] instead of ignoring Diplomat?
Deathwielded
3/17/2014 6:02:23 PM

no as Indiscriminate only works on adjacents. I would like this guy to be an alternative to Thrawn, not just good with him. The only other thing I can come up with at the moment is Rival (which doesn't fit as Palps like Thrawn) or Speciesist (this character cannot be in a squad that contains non-human characters)
saber1

Good call on the adjacency. I don't think non-human would exclude Thrawn as his species isn't defined in-game. Thrawn, Chiss Leader or some such would be limited by Specesist.

I made him have Rival, I also added a movement breaker to All As I Have Foreseen. I also increased the effectiveness of AaihF by 1. Removed Rapport and neatened thing up alittle
Lord_Ball

I really don't think Rival is necessary - at least not that version. "All As I Have Foreseen" is clearly a great benefit and a big reason to not include MT in your squad.
Deathwielded

Thank you! I was hoping so, but I realized that the possibility still existed for thrawn to be put in this squad type.

They don't really synergize very well together (or at all) though so the points spent on Thrawn would largely be wasted, and with Sense the Future you can win that crucial init roll. I'm thinking with Betrayal, Turn to the Dark Side, Improved Force Alter and MOTF, he could probably use a cost bump (low 50s?) making the points that could be spent on Thawn even more crucial to spend more wisely (such as a bodyguard).
Deathwielded

good point, I will do just that
General_Grievous

All as I have foreseen seems really powerful, is that saves and attacks? Also I think the CE could be cleaned up a bit. I like what it does but maybe make it two separate sentences for ignoring diplomat and gaining assassin. I really like the force powers on this guy though.
Deathwielded
3/18/2014 4:15:20 PM

It is both saves and attack rolls, "-3 on the result of all rolls".

I like the Hand of the Emperor boost, it is something new for Palps (well...sorta all his old CEs work very well with Hands being able to double dip on his force points.) But giving them assassin is very cool, and is actually really nice with Anakin, Chosen One to give him a really nice option with Imperials. He'd be nice and deadly. Overall I like the piece.

Yah I agree with everything AndyHatton said here. 10 from me, nice job!

why did I say nice like 8 times in my comment?...I need a thesaurus. I usually at least change one of those to neat or interesting...
