Force Abilities - I found this on swmgamers - it's official, right? Is there a more official looking copy than on the swmgamers forums? So if Bastila takes damage or uses a force power, her Advanced Battle Meditation finishes? Quote:Force abilities: Some characters have Force powers that remain in effect beyond that character's turn. These are called Force abilities. A Force ability remains active for the designated time. Force abilities cannot be cancelled unless the character is defeated, or at the moment the ability is activated (if a character with a Force canceling power like Force Absorb or Force Defense is within the required range at the time of activation). Force abilities that don't last until the end of the skirmish are negated prematurely if the character using it rolls a save, spends Force points, makes an attack, or is dealt damage. The ability immediately ends if the character joins an opponent's squad. Characters with Force Immunity ignore Force abilities.

I think it even has fancy pants graphics by Les :)

Thanks - we were talking about it last night, and we were a bit fuzzy about it. We're having a little 100 point tournament on Sunday, so I wanted to make sure I understood it correctly.
I wouldn't have thought of running Bastila at 100, but she seemed to work OK; she's a pretty decent melee piece for her cost. In effect it's like you're paying about 3-5 extra points to have Advanced Battle Meditation up your sleeve if you're playing a squad that's reliant on CEs, and either way you can use some ABM to boost your shooters until the other team gets close.

I have a follow up question about this topic.
If a character using a Force ability such as Advanced Battle Meditation takes damage from an enemy character, thereby negating said Force ability, does the attacking character immediately benefit from any Commander Effects for the rest of their turn?
As an example, let's say you were running a Separatist squad with Whorm Loathsome and his CE had been suppressed by ABM. And let's say you attacked Bastilla with a B-3 Ultra Battle Droid (has Triple attack) that has not moved and is within 6 squares of Whorm (or a Mouse) and the first attack hits. Does Whorm's Twin attack CE immediately come into play for the rest of the B-3's turn, allowing the B-3 to make a twin attack on that first attack that just hit as well as on the Double and Triple attacks that are to come?

You will want to read the "Resolving Effects" section of the FAQ to see where specifically the Force Ability will be cancelled. The CE would be back afterwards.

Ok, I just finished reading the Resolving Effects section of the FAQ @ the Holocron. I may have missed it but didn't see anything related to a Force Ability being canceled but if I had to guess it would probably be resolved during step XI. If this is correct then Twin Attack would resolve later and therefore the attacker in the above example should be granted the ability to make a Twin attack on that first attack and of course subsequent attacks, whether double or triple.

Force ability wouldn't be explicitly described in the Resolving Effects because it hasn't been updated in some time. Yet what you have to do is check to see where the Force ability would be cancelled based on how it can be cancelled (attack, make a save, take damage) and see that in the Resolving Effects the main point of someone attacking you would be for if you take damage. So you must look at the point where damage is dealt and see if you check for Twin Attack after that point. Which you do, so the attacker would get Twin Attack if they damage her.

You interpretted it correctly. Quite honestly, Force Abilties, along with quite a few other powers, don't need to be explicitly stated in the Resolving Effects section. It was written quite well for stuff to be placed fairly easily in the list.
