We're planning our next tournament, and wanted some community input. Please let us know what you think. EDIT- let's assume we're gonna do a R&R sealed.what else do you like?

I vote FF with two changes: 4 characters up to 200pts; and gambit is 5pts for each character in the zone at EOT.
I voted this way for a few reasons: 1) all squads are the same size (leads to point #2) 2) games tend to be much quicker and simpler (helps rooks) 3) easier to build squads (for rooks) 4) extra gambit gives more enticement to get to center of map quicker 5) changing it to "up to 200" opens up almost infinite combos to be used; way more creativity!
I have found this format to be very fun and the games get interesting quick.

I voted FF4. We play Draft games alot here, factions mean nothing in this format. we get up to about 5 guys, each rolling for 1st pick. Whoever gets highest roll gets to pick out of their own stuff, or any of his opponents (alot of us have limited collections). then everyone just picks after that in order of the rolls. for 5 people, we get to choose 3 characters, anything less then that many players, we usually just pick 4 characters. You activate one character at a time, set up on a multiplayer friendly map (roll again for positions, highest goes first) usually whoever get the lowest roll gets the poodoo side of the stick because they lead everyone out of hiding to kill him/her. play til the last man is standing. Fun times.

I like the Force Five. It would be cool, but then we might see a lot of the same minis in squads. Revan, Grand Master, Mace, Gowk, etc..
How about an R&R sealed?

I like HUK's gambit idea the reason I went with 200 exactly, is that it forces hard choices. ex. u have 9 points and 1 piece to go...up to 200 ,you'd take Mas, at 200 exactly you have to make a hard decision, and maybe start building the squad from scratch if you want Mas in. also you may have to play a 2nd rate piece, just cuz it fit's with you 3 studs.

I have found this format to be very fun and the games get interesting quick. I voted the same way and I like Huk's gambit idea.... as for exactly 200, I could go either way. I like both, depends on how many rookiees you expect. Incidentally, I just moved to Ohio and may be able to make it to your tournament. Jak, could you pm me some info on where you guys meet, when, how often, etc.? Ps... a similar format for the inclusion of Epic characters would be very cool.
