So I was looking through Apps on my new DROID3 today, and came across a Pokedex app with all the 400+ Pokemon listed. Could someone in the SWM community come up with something similar? I know this particular app was created by an individual, not a company or something, and all the App would need to do is be a database for each individual fig and their stats.
I think you could ignore reprints and don't even worry about sets, just have Faction lists (organized in descending order by point cost) and you'd just select a figure and it'd show you their stats. It'd be good for reference on the fly, and would be especially awesome for the V-Sets because you'd be able to check and make sure someone's printed V-Set cards are legit. Who would be interested in an app like this? Or is this just a pipe dream?

This would be awesome! I would love to see this, even moreso if it allowed squad creation and collection tracking

For now, I'd like to keep the App as a basic stat-reference thing. I'm actually trying to get in contact with the friend of a friend who is a big Star Wars friend and computer programmer to see if an App like this is feasible, and how much work it would be.

That is a pretty cool idea. I don't have any experience with mobile development (although I am a computer programmer), but I don't imagine it would be hard to do. Maybe I'll find some time to look into it, app development is something I've wanted to try for a while anyway.
I have an iPhone, though, not a Droid, so I'd probably look into that, first.

Lol yea. I bought the Pokedex with part of a $15 Amazon promotional credit that I got for buying my phone there. Not that I actively play Pokemon anymore, but it's a fun little reference to have. And it's got all of the Pokemon's cries on it, too!

Problem with iPhone is that you need to pay money for the developer kit, even if you plan the app to be free.
I'm currently working on iPhone and Android apps with my programming team, if someone wanted to upload a SWM database for iPhone I could probably use our developer account when the time comes. Just need to be wary of any copyright issues, try not to make it draw LFL attention.

I'd love to have a SWM database on my phone, as long as it is blackberry compatible.
