Thing is all of the people involved with stat creation, card art, playtesting, etc of both Destiny Of The Force and Renegades & Rogues are members of both sites. In fact some of them are more active members here than at Gamers. Also, would it be good for the community and therefore the game if we divided our efforts and competed against each other?

Shinja did a custom set called Jedi Civil War a while back. You can find it in the Custom Sets... along with over a hundred others! http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/Set/1/jedi-civil-warNone of them are official, though, the way the V-Sets are.

Destiny of the Force is listed on Bloomilk, so as far as I am concerned it is every bit a Bloomilk V-Set as it is a SWMGamers set. I just figured it was a Star Wars Miniatures set, and did not realise we were expecting separate sets to be made from each site.

IMHO it would be quicker to adjust the some of the existing customs, than start from scratch with each set. Imagine how cool it would be for SWM fans to say a v-sat card was based on their custom idea.

I have no problem with custom stats and house rules. But as for "official" sets - there is only one. More than one would split the community and basically be the stake in the heart of this already waining game. Not to mention unnecessary. Gamer's has been doing such a great job, and they are very open to input.
If you are interested in being involved in the process, talk to Weeks as he said above. And they are ALWAYS looking for suggestions of characters, abilities and force powers.

There are threads on several sites (here being one) for suggestions for future sets, and as Weeks stated, they are always looking for playtesters. Testing for v-set 3 is already getting underway and will be in full force after Gencon. SWMGPA V-set3 that is, to answer coffeebean.

Why would we want to split the community like that?

The community in NZ is already split. Two groups - 1) people who can win the competitions I run and 2) me... blast it.

Darth Revan's self-swapping commander effect is just like "Why Aren't You At Your Post?", a Special Ability I put on my custom Stormtrooper TK-421. Right now, it's in the top 10 on the custom figures ratings list, so the v-set designers may have seen it. http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/714/stormtrooper-tk-421

Pretty sure it's happened already really? can we have an example In addition to cicrush's example, there's also a mini in Set 3 that has been heavily influenced by another custom out there. I can't say any more than that, but know that the v-set designers spend a LOT of time looking at existing customs as well as ideas that are posted in the appropriate threads, both here and on Gamers. Pretty much, if you see an ability on a V-set card that's very similar to something you posted, there's good odds that it was created because of your influence. That's the reason we ask for ideas, so that we can use them. Also, the current v-sets are not just "SWM Gamers" v-sets. Yes, that's where the design is actually done, but Bloomilk and its members are VERY heavily involved in the development. Nearly every designer posts on both Games and Bloomilk, and we make a point to try to get playtesters from both sites. There's absolutely no reason to have another development team running; if you're interested in development, volunteer to help! For set 1, I was just a mere playtester, given the Mandalorian stats and nothing else. Me and my group did a good job playtesting and giving feedback, so for set 2 I was one of the lead playtesters. That gave me even more opportunity to give feedback and discuss designs with the rest of the design team directly, which lead to me being a designer for set 3! Literally anyone can take the same path that I did to become a designer. The easiest place to volunteer now is playtesting, and it's a great place to be able to give input into the design process. I strongly encourage anyone who has any interest in designing to volunteer to playtest and really spend time playing with the figures you're given and give good playtesting reports, as they are invaluable to the design team.

I look at customs for figures (wish bloomilk had a way to search for "custom" character in the character search - need to remember to suggest that option.
But when looking at a character I don't know much about, I like to see if there are some obvious missing ideas that multiple people have put on their custom here on bloomilk. I can't tell you what I've used in the past (honestly don't remember because this is one of many sources I use for stats), but I know I've done it as have the others. We also look very closely at the what do you want threads and take ideas directly from those. As for our team, please look at the entire group, we are bloomilkers and gamers all working together already. These are a community project, if you want to be involved, you've been told numerous times how do become involved. As for if bloomilk should start doing it's own V-sets, absolutely not. That would pretty much kill it. Feel free to do a community custom set if you all want to, but trying to compete with the V-sets is a bad bad idea.
