So this is my first attempt at custom painting a mini. I am going to paint my orphans for practice. I thought that the paint job was pretty good until I took these close up pictures. It is amazing how much more you can see when it is blown up 5 or 6 times actual size. The paint looks glooped on and I can see brush strokes and I can see where I missed when I was priming. Some of you have been doing this for quite a while and I would appreciate any constructive pointers that you could give.

Thanks

multiply lighter coats are better than one heavy coat of paint, IMO.
use small brushes, and paint from light colors to dark.
then you can cover a light mistake with a dark color.
for really small areas some times a Sharpie works better than paint.
any over paint on the base you can cover with paint, or Sharpie.
patience is the best advice, take it slow and pay attention to detail.

Im not the best painter in the world...but it gets better with practice.

Good brushes and excellent lighting have helped me improve.
