So I read the faq and was wondering how overwhelming force plays out against mauls ability teras kasi style. I am assuming that maul would not get to reduce the damage by ten, but I just wanted to make sure.

I am assuming that maul would not get to reduce the damage by ten, but I just wanted to make sure. Per the glossary: Force; 1 Force point) When this character uses this Force power, its attacks (or damage from its attacks) cannot be prevented or redirected this turn. Enemies cannot use abilities such as Parry or Lightsaber Block to avoid damage, Damage Reduction has no effect, and abilities such as Draw Fire or Bodyguard cannot force this character to attack or deal damage to a different character. Likewise, abilities that reflect damage back to the attacker have no effect against this character’s attacks. Overwhelming Force does not affect damage from effects that are not attacks, such as Force Lightning. This Force power works even when this character is making an attack of opportunity.

So, I just need a clarification on both Overwhelming Force and, by extension, Overwhelming Power.
DR is avoided as it's mentioned in capitalized letters. This refers the SA. However, does this also bypass abilities like Voduun, Force Attuned Armor, or Beskargam? I remember that these would not stop Overwhelming Force.

Damage cannot be reduced by any Special Abilities or Force Powers.

Bottom line is this: If a character with overwhelming force (or power) hits, that target takes the full damage. Period. No way to get around it.

komix wrote:Unless someone uses Force Defence? while that is true it doesnt change tims statement because you are absorbing/defensing the overwhelming force itself. It would work against the power, but only at the time of activation.
