in the Clone Wars cartoon, the Death Watch commander, Pre Vizsla, has a very distinctive weapon (that started life as a vibro-sword, but was changed to an "ancient lightsaber" or darksaber, by Lucas).

Has anyone tried to customize the weapon? How would you give it its distinctive look?

Ive wondered about this subject also. Wondering if he might be a new character in the new v-set and what the ability will look like?

I would paint a sword (rodians brutes) black mixed with silver (for the sparkel)

I think a simple way would be what Darthbane53 points out, In fact, you could get some additional iridescent medium to add to the paint.
I have played with methods of doing this and I might have to go back and touch up with some silver Sharpie, but with one of my acrylic rods I experimented with, I got a quasi-similar effect. I ran the tip of a black Sharpie across the length of the rod. Upon ending at the tip, I would turn it slightly and do the same. Now, the trick is just to let pressure up and let it "skip" in random intervals. The more skips the more gaps that would let light in.

And yes, he will still have the crotch hanky because I don't want to use a third mini for the bottom)

what i would do is paint the sword silver first and then go over it with black at spots to give ti that feel. It also helps if you have a Black ink paint that some brands use. IT gives you this semi clear color that is meant to go over others.
