EDIT: Looking for some advice as I finalize this. Please scroll down and see where I am at with the squad.

OK ladies and gents, my weekly playgroup is doing a 400 point Epic skirmish theme next Friday and I am totally geeked to run the squad I have picked out. I would like to see what everyone else would do with these rules.

400 points max (i.e. no going over w/ Lobot); only 1 Epic character per squad; standard faction rules apply.

Here is the squad I intend to run (with the possibility of a tweak here or there):
http://http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/109517/old-republic-epic-400
Quote:
--Old Republic Epic 400--
138 Lord Hoth, Leader of the Army of Light
62 Boba Fett, Bounty Hunter
47 Mira
35 Zuckuss, Bounty Hunter
33 Bastila Shan, Jedi Master
27 Jedi Battlemaster
21 Han Solo, Gambler
19 Wookiee Elite Warrior
18 Mouse Droid x6

(400pts. 14 activations)

First off I am surprised that the Lord Hoth Epic is the lowest rated of all Epics as of this writing. His CE's are sweet! With Old Republic Conscription every character you can legally add to your squad becomes subject to his CE's. Perhaps I'm showing how much of a noob I am but running accurate shooters w/ him is going to be insane!

As of now I am going to run Boba BH, Mira, Zuckuss and Han Gambler. Boba and Mira will both be able to move up to 12 spaces and shoot attack every single character within los TWICE! Only once for Zuckuss but every time his attack hits the enemy will be stuck thanks to his Snare Rifle. As for Han, I am simply hoping he can do as much damage as possible before he gets killed off at which point Lord Hoth will be able to utilize Impulsive Jedi Hunter and get a +4 att / +10 dam for the rest of the skirmish against all force users.

I know Lord Hoth can't stand toe to toe w/ some of the other Epic's straight up but w/ the Niman Mastery and all the other things he has going for him he is going to be a heck of a beatstick in his own right.

Of course not only is Bastilla going to be able to knock out opposing CE's in the middle of the skirmish but she can be a very solid melee piece when needed. Not to mention the JBM.

I could remove Han from the squad, as well as 1 or 2 mice and add either a Jedi Watchman or another JBM but I really like the idea of Han being a sacrificial lamb and doing as much damage as possible before dying for Lord Hoth's benefit.

So, in an Epic 400 point skirmish, what does your squad look like?

I realized that the squad above was way too shooty w/ not much ability too actually take down some of the Epic beats seeing as they aren't doing much more than 20 damage per shot. Czulkang, Yoda, Vader and others can minimize that damage significantly. Mace's deflect is going to allow him to make you kill yourself before you can kill him. Maul is going to be cloaked and you have to be within 6 to get at the Phantom Menace and in both cases they are going to make fast work of those shooters.

I definitely need more melee and specifically some characters who can deal higher amounts of damage in 1 attack. I like the idea of Wookie Elite Warriors but if they miss or have there attack force defensed they will do ZERO damage and be taken out in their enemies next turn.

I'm going to play around with this some more and see what I can come up with because I really want to try pairing at least Boba and Mira w/ Lord Hoth's Furious Assault CE.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, lol! I mean zero damage for the entire skirmish. I was thinking about keeping them back until that point.

Of course now that I think about it if I use multiple Wookies I could swarm somebody and w/ melee reach 2 some of them could potentially get off 2 rounds of attacks.

hmmmmm

EDIT:

OK so here's what I changed it to for now:

Quote:
138 Lord Hoth, Leader of the Army of Light
62 Boba Fett, Bounty Hunter
47 Mira
33 Bastila Shan, Jedi Master
95 Wookiee Elite Warrior x5
8 R7 Astromech Droid
5 Salacious Crumb
12 Mouse Droid x4

I added Salacious Crumb as a 5 point Unique. As soon as he dies Lord Hoth gets Jedi Hunter for the rest of the skirmish. If my opponent doesn't want to kill him immediately I have the choice of using his disruptive on an opponents CE or simply killing him off myself w/ Mira's splash.

With Jedi Hunter and ABM in effect plus a FP for precision Hoth will use charging assault to hit for 60 (70 against Sith). He loses the 10 bonus on the Twin but it can still go for 50 (or 60 against Sith). Heck if he can withstand being based by an opposing beat and gets to use his double and twin he can hit for 160 even without precision (200 against Sith!).

Boba and Mira both get to move up to 12 spaces and then shoot virtually every enemy they have LOS to TWICE! If any opponents have a lot of fodder they will get wiped out quick.
With Charging +10, +10 against adjacent's from Lord Hoth, Momentum and ABM in effect the Wookies can hit for 60 per attack.

Any more advice would be much appreciated!

I've been playing around making an OR squad since GF pointed out Hoth's amazing CE & OR conscription.
A jawa scav w/stealth back with a czerka could be a sub for Han.
czerka would give other furious accurate shooters a chance to jolt the enemy,
that with Stuckus and thre opponent could be moving reeaall slow.
and I added Vodo-baas to use Hoth's CE of +10 to adjacent enemies.
then he dies and gives Bastila 4 more FP

Looking for some advice as I finalize this squad for tonight. Again it's a 400 point Epic skirmish (max 1 Epic per squad).

Right now I am down to basically two things I am considering, the last squad I posted above:

Quote:
138 Lord Hoth, Leader of the Army of Light
62 Boba Fett, Bounty Hunter
47 Mira
33 Bastila Shan, Jedi Master
95 Wookiee Elite Warrior x5
8 R7 Astromech Droid
5 Salacious Crumb
9 Mouse Droid x3
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

or:

Quote:
138 Lord Hoth, Leader of the Army of Light
62 Boba Fett, Bounty Hunter
47 Mira
35 Zuckuss, Bounty Hunter
33 Bastila Shan, Jedi Master
57 Wookiee Elite Warrior x3
8 R7 Astromech Droid
5 Salacious Crumb
9 Mouse Droid x3
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

On the second I dropped 2 Elite Wookie Warriors and added Zuckuss, BH and another Uggie. There are definite pro's to either one. Having Zuckuss as a 3rd Accurate Shooter taking advantage of Hoth's wicked CE in conjunction w/ his Snare Rifle could be very powerful and could make a big difference in a skirmish if I can stop a beatstick in it's tracks at the right time.

On the other hand, Having those 2 extra Wookies who can each run up 12 spaces and hit one of those aforementioned beats (think Mace Windu in light of the current "overpowered" debate thread) for 60 damage in one pop. That also could be the difference in a skirmish.

Right now I am leaning towards Zuckuss because his Force Sense and Anticipation could come in very handy. Plus having another shooter may help me keep my opponent pinned down.

I guess the question is, are Boba and Mira enough or should I bring Zuckuss as well? Any thoughts and comments much appreciated!
