And Deep Space Nine's a bad thing?

I didn't say it was, it's my favorite out of the shows as well. It proved that Star Trek could carry on and flourish after Roddenberry's death.

Everyone knows "The Next Generation" was the only good Star Trek Razz

I love all the Data episodes like the Sherlock Holmes episode.

Scared Wow, I didn't read all the way to the bottom on the follow up article.

That is really unacceptable! Cursing I would say what I really think of those guys that did that to those kids, but it would probably get censored.

Wow, that sucks. Apparently those people were'nt smart enough to realize that the future of SW rests in the kids they boo'd off.

Very disappointed in the fan community.

Just looked what happened with Star Trek when Gene Roddenberry passed away.

We got Deep Space Nine.

I should have specified more Blushing . I was referring to the books of Star Trek that came out. Once Gene died, writers were given free reign to write about anything they wanted. There were so many different alternate universes that came about that really didn't progress the series as a whole.

Now hopefully GL will put something in his will about someone else, who has a great understanding and respect for Star Wars, taking over the responsibility of making decisions. It would be really cool though if they ever got to making another live action (or even animated) trilogy.

People have been mentioning the ideas of new movies, what do you all think should be the next one(s) made? I'm leaning towards a Revan Trilogy, a Bane Trilogy (Darth of course) or the Thrawn Trilogy. But I am curious as to what ideas you all have.

Sincerely,
Jester007

Most of the Novels do fit into the overall continuity though. Out of the 100+ Star Trek Books I have, the only ones that could really be considered out of place would be the Shatnerverse stuff.

There is a big difference between Star Trek and Star Wars canon though: Paramount's official stance on all the Star Trek EU stuff is that none of it is considered canon, only the shows and movies matter. The books, comics, games, etc. can all be freely ignored by writers of the shows and movies.

That's not to say they don't have any influence over the main stuff though. For example, elements of Diane Duane's Romulan novels show up in Nemesis.

The ST books have gotten a lot lot better continuity wise, specially wqith the Relaunch series of books for each series, they even tied up stuff from the shows like why Q was screwing with Picard so much.

I doubt that will hold up. Whoever holds the rights will have lots of potential money to be made. They'll find a reason/way to make more movies.

We will see. It appears he is prepping one of his daughters, Katie, to inherent the mantel of god of the universe. And I'm okay with that, she has done okay on the Clone Wars.

The only issue with the tweaks he keeps making, is that he doesn't want to release the originals as well. Seems like a tough business decision to understand.

And really, fans will never be 100% happy.

Not a hard business decision at all. This way he can sell a ton of Blu-Ray now and a ton more in 5 years when he releases the originals. It's the same thing that happened with DVDs.

And with that you've hit the nail on the head Sithborg. Fans will never be 100% happy, EVER! It's just that simple. People will always find stuff to complain about. Myself personally, the only thing that even slightly bothered me was the changing to Greedo shooting first. Other than that I have no complaints what so ever about Star Wars in it's entirety. I honestly like it all, and YES even the newer movies, I II and III. Along with the Clone Wars series and movie that started the series. I just love Star Wars, I was six years old when it first hit the screen back in the 70's and I thought it was the coolest thing ever!!! Darth Vader scared the living %$#& out of me! Scared

I'm actually surprised at how many people complain and gripe about the new stuff. I mean come on. We waited soooo long for new movies to be made and then all people do is gripe about them when they are finally made. Confused AND we have a very cool show to watch every Friday. Maybe people should do a little more watching and enjoying and a lot less complaining and griping.

Rant over. Flapper

Me I just love Star Wars period and I'll be eternally grateful to George Lucas for creating it. He has given me countless hours of entertainment with his creation. I buy the movies, and play Mini's. Thankfully as an adult, I can now afford to have the thousands of small action figures I always wanted to have when I was a youngling. Laugh I now have Armies of Stormtroopers. I'll never stop collecting the mini's for this game!!!! Woot

Yeah, Q&A was a good book, though when it comes to Q related novels, Q-Squared remains my favorite.

Also, with Q being done with Picard, that frees him up to mess with Ponies.
