I had a couple games yesterday with my son and three other guys. I should have taken some pics and posted the batreps, but I didn't know if SWM was still alive. I'm very happy to see that there still is a SWM community. There are about eight people in Winnipeg that I know of who are still playing. I'll post some batreps in the future.

Yep, the community's still going strong. There's even been some virtual sets released since the "official" end of the game. You can check out the stats here and download the cards at swmgamers, the other major SWM site.

You're in luck, the game has actually gotten better since wizards dropped it. You've come back at a good time for the game

i still play about 1-2 times a month. as long as you dont play with all power gamers i dont think this game will ever get old:) just broke out darth plaguies last month for the first time and ill tell you that one figure just renewed the game for me! as a play group we dont use the v-sets, but that doesnt mean we never will, just not right now.

I think the game is better than ever. Might be a little bit tougher to find opponents... perhaps even have to "create" them.

One thing the community has been doing is testing out different formats. One of the more popular ones that has been reaching the forefront is a 500 point constructed. A limit of 16 activations has been placed to keep the games flowing fast. With the addition of the Epic set, this new format has the feel of "Clash of the Titans" where all the big players are showing up for a throw down.
One thing I love about the virtual sets is they really have gotten my gaming group into making custom figures. It was a little frustrating at first, and I was a little nervous, but it kinda grew on me. I just love looking at figures from other mini games and trying to think of how I can turn it into a Star Wars character.
Glad to see you're enjoying the life of the game. Look forward to seeing you online and at tournaments once that season gets going. Cheers!
Sincerely, Jester007

Sincerely, Jester007 This. Lately I have been scouring ebay for clix and D&D minis that could be turned into various characters. A couple of my purchases have been fails, but I have managed to make a half decent Joruus C'Boath from a D&D figure, and a Chazrach. These successes are driving me further into the other games in search of custom fodder.

I'd kill for a set of minis based on the new Old Republic MMO and maybe with some Deathtroopers tossed in. Well, maybe I wouldn't kill, but I'd definitely glare for them.

Maybe in the future one of the v-sets will have some MMO figs!!! Perhaps Satile Shan. That would be awesome!

Let's make our own publicly generated community custom set.

I suggest we make it be an 80 character set list and include all 10 factions. Where did I get 80 from? The first D&D mini sets had 80 and I've always been envious. By the time Wizards started making SWM they had found that they could get the same amount of profit from a 60 piece sets. Then they cut it down to 40. Then they fired Rob... but I digress.
