I got a $50 Amazon gift card for Christmas and I am thinking about spending it on minis. I have been heavy into SWM since it came out and have complete sets up through TFU. I dropped out soon after the release of LOTF. After that my mini buying has been spotty, with only a few boosters of each set. Now to my question, the Clone Wars map packs are cheap on Amazon, but are they good buys? Are the minis in them exclusive or can they be found in other sets? What else would be good to pick up off Amazon?

The 3 unique's are exclusive. The 3 non-u are reprints, but are numbered diffently so are still "collectable" Now when you say cheap, do you mean cheap? I have seen them at normal online retailers for as low as 3-4 dollars per map pack.
Hope that helps.

Yeah, buy the map packs at Miniature Market instead. You can get all three for 15 bucks including shipping. On Amazon, you'll wind up paying about triple that (as they won't have free shipping since they aren't sold by amazon directly).
As for good stuff to pick up on amazon, there's tons of things. I tend to buy a good amount of video games on there as they've got good sales and the stuff from their used section (Warehouse Deals) is almost always in pristine condition.

I payed $10 for each of them when they came out and it looks like you get get them for less now. I know I purchased a couple extras for maps and mins for $2 each but that wasn't through Amazon.
As for the products you should remember that you are getting a double sided map with each and many of the new "maps" go for $10 each or more. As already noted each pack has one new figure that is only available through there and one reprint. The reprints are nothing special but the uniques are nice even if they all have other representations. I like the MP Anakin although General Skywalker will see a lot more offical play. I really like the Seperatist Assassin but for official play she runs into the problem of being a living follow in a faction that likes it's machines. The third unique isn't bad but isn't all that great and perhaps works best when paired with her synergistic partner that is actually in one of the sets.

Yeah I have to agree with some previous posts. I haven't looked at Amazon but my guess is that you would pay a premium off of that site as compared to other online retailers such as minis market, cool stuff inc, troll and toad, etc. You should be able to get them for no more than $5-$7 each plus a nominal shipping cost. They are a great buy considering all or what you get but I still wouldn't want to overpay much to get them even if you have no money out of pocket with your gift card.

I don't know how it is over there, but the map packs were all on ebay recently for about £1 each. Ebay is probably your best bet for those.
