Alright, so it's time to do the nominations for this year's Hall of Fame class! This will be open for about a month (ending in early January).

The way it works is you can nominate exactly 5 people for induction into the Hall of Fame. The current members of the HoF will then vote on the nominees. Post all nominations in this thread.

The top 3 nominees (people who got the most nominations) will get 1 free "community vote" during the voting process.

Threads are up at both Gamers and Bloomilk; please only post your nomination in one of the two places, not both. Remember that you should nominate exactly 5 people, no more, no less.

As a reminder, here is the list of people who are currently in the Hall of Fame. Don't nominate these guys!

Class of 2008:
Dennis Beard aka Boris the Dwarf
Matt Francella aka Jedicartographer
Jim Fraser aka Moses2813

Steve Leskow aka Fool
Bill Russell aka Billiv15
Shawn Sparks aka StSparks72
Jason Tanner aka Nickname
Chuck monarch aka ChuckM

Class of 2009:

Class of 2010:

Padraig Neuendorf aka I Kill Gungans

Class of 2011:
Ray Becker aka dvader831
Josh Derksen aka armoredgear7
Les Eller aka LESHIPPY
Daniel Stephens aka Echo
Scott Sykes aka Sithborg

Ian aka Jester007 will be automatically inducted into the class of 2012 for winning GenCon this year, so don't nominate him, either. Smile

Please keep in mind that your post should contain EXACTLY 5 names. If you nominate less than 5 people, it won't be counted.

Swinefeld has always been one of the most helpful community members. He's gone out of his way numerioustimes deal to help me deal with trade issues. He's also universally helped millions of orphan figs and cards get back to their mommies and daddies. He has been one of the best mediators this community has (you know how we can get out of hand), and is a contributing poster as well as a mod... not just a baby sitter.

So,
Swinefeld
Chargers
Tim Ballard
Weeks

I don't live in the states, so haven't met these people, and I don't see what goes on behind the scenes with design etc, but:

Darth Jim
Swinefeld
Chargers
Weeks - props for consistently posting really good squads in the squad builder, and for hosting SHNN.
Kezzamachine - does a great job of running Save11 in New Zealand - I think he has about 25 of us on his ranking system.

Okie dokie!

Darth Jim: fo' sure - recently became the one person dead or alive that I'd like to have dinner with.
Swinefeld: In New Zealand in about the 60s, Ray Columbus and the Invaders put out a song called "She's a Mod" (which I don't believe has any direct reference to being a SWM moderator" but it would be at his point that I would start singing "he's a mod, he's a mod, he's mod, yeah yeah yeah, he's a mod, he's a mod"... perhaps an overly complicated way of syaing how much I appreciate what he does here and also the conversations we've had - great guy!
Tim: Makes a great podcast and is great fun to talk to. My favourite sith.
Mark: The other half of a great podcast duo. Awesome work!
Weeks: Yes, he is a SHNN man and yes, he comes up wi' uber-squads and yes, he's a Vset designer, but most importanly he voted for my George Michael/Michael Jackson covers band to play ABC and that is too awesome.

As a side note: I see that I have 3-4 non-NZ votes. To be recognised outside of my own country both here and on SWMgamers means a heap - thanks guys!

My nominations of the following people are made based upon the work these individuals do to keep the game alive. I am a bit biased but also incredibly lucky. You see when I was first introduced to SWM my son and I showed up at an LGS for a SWM league that just happened to be run by Tim and Mark. Not only did they help me learn the game but they also provide a great activity for local youths and adults alike with the league they run. It was later that I found out about their podcast SWM Miniverse.

So Mark and Tim (AKA Chargers) are my first two nominations. My third is for Swinefeld whose contribution is clear and unquestioned. A good guy as well. Fourth I nominate kezzamachine. Keeping the game alive for all of New Zealand is more than enough. Lastly (and this was tough because others are clearly worthy) I nominate Tim Ballard (AKA TimmerB). I could be mistaken but I believe he created the Tile Wars version of the game. And even if he didn't he still has done more than enough to deserve this.
