The Nautolan Black Sun Vigo has the Special Ability "Black Sun," which states "if a character whose name contains Xizor or Vigo is in the same squad, this character gains Grenades 10." But, since the Nautolan is a "Vigo," does he count towards the requirements for the ability to take affect?

No. Black Sun requires another character in the squad with Xizor or Vigo in their name to gain grenades. The Nautolan cannot give grenades to himself (However, 2 Nautolans can give Grenades to each other).

This is covered in the Glossary Definition for Black Sun.
