I have seen on several websites, particularly Toll & Toad, bunches of random miniatures, they look pretty cheap, and I need some custom fodder. So, what do are your opinions on these random bunches? Are all of the pieces just crap, or are their some good pieces mixed in?

I'd guess your milage will vary but if a place sells higher value singles I wouldn't expect them to show up in any "random" lots. Maybe someone will have the Fett Bounty Hunters and Cad Bane somewhere in a random lot but I'd never expect them to show up if that same source is also selling singles. I've even willing to be that many of the "rare" or even "very rares" that are sometimes advertised with them will be the less valuable ones like Moff Jerjerrod that aren't all that special.
Now if you're just looking for a bunch of bodies to dismember and reassemble then you may not care too much about actual game stats the pieces you get. To most players a Duros Mercenary is something that can be ignored but if you're building customs it isn't such a bad piece.
I'm sure someone could come along and say how great the the pieces in their random lot were but it will depend on what you're looking for and a bit on what kind of pool the lots come from.

I've gotten the random ones 2 times with troll and toad just as a thrown in to see what I would get.
I got a Bomarr monk and Proxy both of which I thought were well worth the price to get them.
