Lord Vader can do 120 damage after moving 6 PLUS he has a decent commander effect! And that's without Thrawn giving him Opportunist for 160 damage!

I think it really depends on the squad. Sure, Lord Vader's sheer damage output and mobility is very attractive. Jedi Hunter, however, is much more dependable. He has better defenses. His base attack is higher, added with Jedi Hunter. Especially with GOWK back in the mix, Lord Vader's Atk sort of worries me. You just have to build a different squad than with Lord Vader.

I haven't seen Jedi Hunter see play since 2006. Let me go blow the dust off of him and ask if he up to the challenge.
He said no.

Vader Jedi Hunter is ballpark similar to Celeste Morne - she doesn't have his defensive abilities, but their offensive abilities are quite similar (triple, Jedi Hunter). So if you're running a Black and Blue squad, she's an option instead of him - she's also 24 points cheaper, has the potential for Rakghoul shenanigans, and can triple attack on the move with Ambush.

The Djem So/Riposte combo is absolutely brutal against opposing Melee figs. Add in Jedi Hunter, you are looking at a potential 60 back when hit. Add in some other fun options, like Opportunist from Thrawn, and he is the biggest threat opposing Jedi will face.

Offensively Scourge can also do 80 Damage from 12 squares away and only costs 55.
Vader JH is very limited by only having Triple Attack. He was a beast in his day, but he was from a more civilized age, when being able to do 90 adjacent Damage standing still unaided was worth 75 Points. And he rarely got off that 90 unaided, Thrawn helped set him up with Swap and Master Tact, reliant on Probe Droids more often than not when it really counted the target denied the full damage and just took the Aoo for a single attack.
