The Yammosk War Coordinator's Telepathic Insight ability allows it to "steal" one commander effect but what is "one commander effect?" Most of the time I see it interpretted as taking one sentence from a commander's CE but when I look at it wouldn't/shouldn't it take a pieces ENTIRE command effect? For example if you have one and an opponent brings a Thrawn to the table do you get the +3/+3/Opportunist in addition to the character swapping ability?

If there are two (or more) distinct effects separated into different sentences, you choose one of them.

So for GA Thrawn, Swap or the +3/+3.

Compare to Rieekan's CE: "Allies gain Evade and Mobile Attack". All one sentence. You get both.

I guess this then begs the question, "Are there any command effects that require more then one sentence to work properly?"

Sure.

Example: check Pre Visla - 2 sentences, but not separate effects. The 2nd sentence clarifies the first.

for a WotC issued piece, check Ki-Adi-Mundi from Clone Strike.

There are a lot of CEs that have a second sentence to clarify the first sentence. With those, it's "assumed" that you would get the 2nd sentence as well since it's all part of 1 CE. It's a bit unorthodoxed...

I see that a lot of the "two sentence" command effects use the second to clarify the first. But what happens when the two are actually different, but related, things. I'm looking at the Gree who does two things: first he let all the units in your squad count as having the same name for the various "Squad" thing and then the second thing he does is give units a Squad ability. They are certainly different and CAN be used without the other but at the same time they are very much related.

That would be two separate CEs.

I was just reading the DotF FAQ and it occured to me that some of what I wrote above isn't quite correct.

Separate CEs are in separate paragraphs according to the FAQ.

Quote:
Q: If I use Telepathic Insight to steal a commander effect from Grand Admiral Thrawn or Nom Anor do I get both effects (+3 Attack/+3 Defense and swapping, non-targetable in cover and Self-Destruct, respectively) or do I have to choose one or the other?

A: Some commanders have multiple commander effects. These are broken up into seperate paragraphs in the Commander Effect section of the card. So in the case of Grand Admiral Thrawn, you would need to choose one of the paragraphs, +3 Attack and +3 Defense to non-uniques or swapping, but in the case of Nom Anor it's a single paragraph and you get both effects.

That said, both Thrawns as well as Commander Gree do have multiple CEs split into paragraphs. Always check the actual cards (or card images) to be sure, as the Minimanager (and probably Bloomilk too) may have formatting discrepancies here and there. IE Thrawn's CE in Minimanager appears as a single paragraph, which is NOT correct.
