Evading Strafe Options

If Ani on Stap makes a strafe attack, (attacking each enemy whose space he enters), can Evade (vs. non-adjacent enemies) be used to counter him? Is his 'same space' attack considered adjacent?

The attack is made before entering the square, so it would happen while the characters are adjacent.

Thus, you can never evade a strafe attack.
