My brother and I are from Dallas, Texas and we are highly considering going to GenCon this year. I just have a few questions regarding a few rules.
1) Are the restricted maps the ones we can use during the competition? What about Standard?
2) Can you use different models for the V-set's other than what is on the cards as long as it looks similar?
I might have other questions that I can't think of at the moment, but I will ask them later.

for the maps question: It depends on the specific tourney. Some are restricted only, and others are standard.
For the second question: Yes, as long as it is very easily clear what each piece is. (ie you can't use 10 uggies to be 10 different dudes)
