Does Jar Jar's Bombad Gungan ability work prevent "splash" damage from Force powers like Force Lightning 2 or abilities like Flamethrower? I know the ability is invoked when Jar Jar is targeted, and abilities that I mentioned before do follow targeting rules and replace attacks, but Lightning technically isn't an attack, and it doesn't make a lot of sense to say that Force Lightning could be negated (that'd basically be like Dooku zapping Jar Jar and the only thing that happens is Jar Jar's tongue gets fat). What if he was adjacent to a character who was targeted by Force Lightning 2 or an attack with Splash 10? I'm assuming that his Draw Fire could also force the attacker to make him the target of such abilities, but if the Draw Fire save failed, would he be able to prevent the area of effect damage with Bombad Gungan?

The "splash" damage isn't targetted, so it doesn't trigger Bombad Gungan.

But it is correct that a direct target from something like Force Lightning, Flamethrower, Missiles, etc. could be redirected or negated?

Yes, because they still target, as long as you're not counting splash damage. You could use both Draw Fire and Bombad on them. I'm not sure why they added the word "attack", though.

Yes, Bombad Gungan can be used to redirect anything that targets Jar Jar.

Well, that's stupid. I knew the ability was ridiculous to begin with, but I didn't realize it was that ridiculous. Thanks for the clarification.

Bombad Gungan was the ability that NickName had the most "fun" answering interaction questions about. I think it was the WotC BFU to the rules wise men. A lot of 12-step program people gave up their sobriety chips when that ability came out. I know one player quit because of that ability. So, yes, it is rediculous.
