OK - so I know if you thought bomb a crew of death shooters, they all have to shoot Kaan (assuming all of Kaan's allies are further away and have cover, and the death shooters do not have accurate), even though he's already dead, since he's not removed from the board until all effects are resolved that turn.

I assume its the same with unleash thr force. Is that the same with flame thrower? How about force repulse, or war throat?

If the death shooters kill the initiator of the ability, do they have to keep shooting that character since he's the closest target, even though he's already dead?

How about missiles or grenades (or other effects that require a save)?

OKok - how about blaster barrage or furious assault? I figure these might be different since its many attacks, vs 1 sudden effect.

I'm pretty sure this is all just 1question, other than the last part. Well, I don't know the answer to any of these, I just know that there are 2 groups:
1. A sudden effect
2.Many attacks

Um, here's an example. Momaw Nadon kills 5 death-shotters with war throat. 2 fire back, killing Momaw. You're saying that Momaw stays there to keep getting shot at because the attacks are immediate? That sounds right to me, but I don't know for sure.

I think that blaster barrage takes out whoever it defeats before another attack is made, because it's not immediate, so you could probably shoot behind someone that just got defeated.

With Blaster Barrage, you have to declare all legal targets at the beginning. Then you pick from that 'list' of legal targets one by one to shoot them. They have to still be a legal target when you shoot at them.

No. Thought Bomb is more like Self Destruct, due to the timing of when it occurs. Since essentially no more damage is applied, Kaan or the Self-Destruct figure would still remain. A figure with those other abilities, if killed off because of the results of their ability (deathshot, Self Destruct), they are removed from the board, and no other figures are affected.

No, because the figure is removed.

With effects that targetted a figure, you would resolve the deathshots and move to the next figure to be affected. With Blaster Barrage/Furious Assault, again, you resolve the deathshots, if the figure is killed, it can't make any more attacks.

And now you know the uproar with Naboo Pilots and Soldiers when they depart.

Naboo Pilots are one of the worst things to ever happen to this game. I hope the designers push Naboo hate in future sets. Ridiculous that they are that good.

I think the Covert Ops (the new broken ability) counters them well. Roll a save of 11 to death shot.

Only if they've moved that turn, which they won't have in all but a few odd cases where they die from a response to something on their turn, like taking AoOs, Reflect or Energy Shield.

Stuff like Push/Repulse won't get Ops as the damage is applied before the character is pushed.

it would be hard to give that specific a hate. plus it would hurt other death shot squads and future ones.

I didn't say it was 100% effective, just that it might be an option. The only 100% effective way vs Death Shots is ABM. Second is Disruptive. After that, it is up to localized tricks (Pheromones, Cloaked, Diplomat, etc.). But, that is for another topic in another category. This dicussion are is about rules and not strategies. So, I digress.

You could just nerf it with a direct reinforcements counter. An ugly solution, but if it's deemed bad enough, it would be easy.

Addendum after some thought: Thought Bomb works two different ways. If you replace Kaan's turn with it, the death shots would affect him like Repulse or Force Burst, since the actual removal and defeat happens after Thought Bomb resolves.
